He observed, analyzed and classified all kinds of flowers, and then showed them in painting art. As the representative of Lu Wenyu's flowers, the "Hundred Flowers Scroll" is nearly five meters long. The scroll is painted with exotic flowers that have never been painted before. This scroll is not only a treasure of painting art, but also a precious image data of rare flowers. His flower paintings are close to Zhang He 'an and far from Yun Shouping, Ma Yuanyu, Hua Xinluo, etc., with dense ink and wash, colorful colors and elegant brushwork, which are favored by painting lovers.
While studying flowers unremittingly, Lu Wenyu often paints birds, such as cuckoo, mandarin duck, parrot and partridge. He once painted exotic birds from foreign countries into Chinese paintings, with exotic flowers and birds, birds singing and flowers fragrant, unprecedented and unique charm. Together with Liu Kuiling, Liu Zijiu, Liu Zhiqing and Xiao Xinquan, they are called "Five Old Men in Tianjin".
Battlefield Rescue
In the early days of the establishment of Tianjin Red Cross Society, many medical staff and aspiring young people enthusiastically signed up for the battlefield rescue team. Among them, Lu Wenyu, a famous painter and biologist in Tianjin's modern history, was the first person who signed up and was approved as a nursing student of the Tianjin Red Cross Battlefield Rescue Team.
After the outbreak of the Revolution of p>1911, when the whole country suffered from war, this knowledgeable and enthusiastic young man very much agreed with the purpose and humanitarian spirit of the Red Cross. When the Tianjin Red Cross Society was founded, Lu Wenyu immediately put down his painting and biological research work, joined the Red Cross organization at the earliest time, and signed up for the work of nursing students in the field ambulance service. After short-term training and practical exercises, he achieved excellent results, and soon set off from Xuzhou with the first batch of field rescue teams of Tianjin Red Cross Society, actively engaged in field rescue work, and was awarded after completing the task.
Soon after, Lu Wenyu joined the League and engaged in revolutionary propaganda work under the cover of collecting plant specimens in Liangxiang and Baoding.
