Wang Shouren (October 31, 1472-January 9, 1529), Han nationality, was born as Yun, whose nickname was Bo 'an, and whose nickname was Yangming. A native of Yuyao County (now Yuyao, Ningbo), Shaoxing Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, was named Yangming Zi because he once built a room in Yangming Cave in Huiji Mountain. Scholars call him Mr. Yangming, also known as Wang Yangming.

In his later years, he was promoted to the post of Shangshu of Nanjing Ministry of War and the suggestion of Zuodu of Douchayuan. He was named as Xinjian Bo for putting down the military exploits of Chen Hao's rebellion, and was posthumously awarded to Xinjian Hou during Qin Long's reign. Shi Wencheng, so later generations are also called Wang Wencheng Gong.
