I was instructed to learn calligraphy by my family when I was a child. I first learned Liu Gongquan's Xuanta Monument, and two years later I learned calligraphy from Jin. Later, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ye Xiaoxue, a master of Chinese studies, and studied ancient Chinese literature and poetry with Mr. Ye for five years. Until Mr. Ye worked in the pre-Qin literature, the main genre of the encyclopedia, he had no time to care about teaching. In the late 1980s, recommended by Mr. Jin Chongguang, he studied under Mr. Wang Weiping, specializing in calligraphy techniques and calligraphy theory teaching, and was listed as the fifth disciple of Wang Weiping Lily Hall. At the same time, introduced by my predecessors, I met Mr. Su, a famous scholar of literature and history, and was deeply taught by Mr. Su. I also worshipped Master Jueyi of Pure Land Sect as a teacher to learn Buddhism.
Perhaps it is God's arrangement that Liu Peiqi's calligraphy has been accompanied by the teaching of Chinese studies and literary historians. These experiences left a deep mark on his calligraphy. He believes that the way to learn is to cultivate people before learning, and advocates the idea of learning books to cultivate the mind, reading history with a pen, learning from the ancients and interacting with them. In calligraphy, he advocates inheriting the past and the future, seeking innovation and change, not limited to the style of one family, and believes that only by advocating nature can positive results be achieved. He also understands the calligraphy spirit of the two calligraphy instructors.
Liu Peiqi doesn't like publicity, and his study is low-key and solid. Therefore, he does not advocate the style of learning from the same people, and believes that scholars should innovate in ancient times. However, innovation and style are the natural results of accumulation and should not be sought after deliberately. Until now, he still focuses on the relationship between study and cultivation, so his occasional works are mainly simple, peaceful, elegant and generous.
