He came to Shanghai in the early 1930s and continued to engage in art cartoon activities. 1932 to 1938, successively served as clerk of concession office of Shanghai municipal government, secretary of Lieutenant garrison headquarters, clerk of Shanghai Public Security Bureau, and bimonthly editor of Popular Pictorial and Novel of popular publishing house. He worked in Hong Kong from 1939 to 1949. Director-General of the Overseas Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Secretary-General of the Central Secretariat, Supervisor of Guangdong Bank, Director of Industrial Bank of China, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Central Bank, Director of the Secretariat of American Aid of the Executive Yuan, and Director of the Secretariat of the Central Trust Bureau. /kloc-settled in Beijing after 0/950. After 1949, he studied at the Institute of Politics of North China Revolutionary University, and later served as the secretary of the State Council Secretariat, deputy general manager of Xinmin Daily Comprehensive Management Office, editor of People's Fine Arts Publishing House, executive director of China Calligraphy Association, director of China Artists Association, and member of the Standing Committee of the Central Supervision Committee of the Chinese Revolutionary Committee. After 1980s, Huang Miaozi was a member of the National Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a director of China Artists Association and a standing director of China Calligraphers Association. After 1992, he was a visiting professor and honorary professor at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. He is a member of the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh China People's Political Consultative Conference.
