The Seven Steps of Cao Zhi's Poetry
Sun Quan occupied Jingzhou and killed Guan Yu. Afraid of Liu Bei's revenge, he wrote a letter to Cao Cao, expressing his willingness to submit to Cao Cao and urging him to comply with his destiny and become emperor as soon as possible.
Cao Cao received this letter and gave it to his confidant minister. He smiled and said, "Sun Quan, the boy, wants to roast me on the fire."
Since Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty moved the capital to Xudu, the imperial power and military power have been in Cao Cao's hands. It is not easy for Cao Cao to abolish the Han emperor and call him emperor. But he considered that although the Han Dynasty declined, it still had an orthodox name. He was afraid that he would become emperor, and some people were dissatisfied. Therefore, he thinks that Sun Quan advised him to be emperor, deliberately trying to embarrass him.
He thought for a moment and said, "If it's fate, I'll be Zhou Wenwang!" "It means to let his son be emperor.
Shortly after this incident, Cao Cao's old illness recurred, and it was useless to ask a doctor to take medicine. He finally died in Luoyang. This year, he was sixty-six years old.
After Cao Cao's death, Prince Cao Pi succeeded to the throne as Wang Wei and Prime Minister, holding the power of the imperial court. After Cao Pi ascended the throne, it was reported that his brothers Cao Zhi and Linzi Hou often drank and called names, and their envoys were detained. Xelloss immediately sent people to Linzi, arrested Cao Zhi and sent him back to Yecheng for interrogation.
It turns out that both Cao Pi and Cao Zhi were born after Cao Cao's wife Bian. Cao Cao is not only a politician, a strategist, but also a writer. The two brothers are also good at poetry. In the history of literature, their father and son are collectively called "Three Caos". Cao Zhi was very clever since he was a child. When he was a teenager, he read a lot of books and wrote excellent articles. Once, after reading Cao Zhi's article, Cao Cao was a little suspicious and asked Cao Zhi, "Did you ask someone to write this?"
Cao Zhi knelt down and said, "I'll write down what I said. How can you let others write it for you? If the father doesn't believe it, you can interview. "
Cao Cao tried Cao Zhi several times and thought that he was really talented, so he liked him very much and wanted to make him the crown prince many times. It was only because some ministers objected that he couldn't decide.
Cao Pi was afraid of his unstable position and tried his best to please Cao Cao. Once, Cao Cao went out to fight, and both Cao Pi and Cao Zhi went to see him off. Before leaving, Cao Zhi read an article praising Cao Gongde on the spot, and everyone appreciated it.
Someone whispered in Cao Pi's ear, "Your Majesty is leaving. All you have to do is express your sadness." Xelloss did wipe his tears and bid farewell to Cao Cao. Cao Cao was very moved and shed tears.
This incident made Cao Cao feel that Cao Pi was not as talented as Cao Zhi, but he was honest and had feelings for him. In addition, there are many people who put in a good word for Cao Pi, and Cao Cao's love for Cao Zhi has gradually changed.
Cao Zhi is a person who doesn't pay attention to details. Once, he was sitting in the palace, traveling with horses and chariots, and privately opened the outer door of the palace to go out.
This is against the rules of the palace.
Cao Cao was furious and put the official in charge of the palace gate to death.
On another occasion, Cao Cao sent Cao Zhi to lead troops to war. When Cao Pi got the news, he sent wine and food in advance, drank with Cao Zhi and got Cao Zhi drunk. Just then, Cao Cao sent someone to find Cao Zhi, but Cao Zhi didn't wake up after several reminders. Cao Cao had to cancel the dispatch to Cao Zhi.
After that, Cao Cao gave up the idea of letting A Zhi be Prince Cao.
After Cao Pi became Wang Wei, he still hated Cao Zhi. This time, I will seize the opportunity to arrest Cao Zhi and sentence him to death.
When his mother, Queen Bian, found out, she pleaded with Cao Zhi in a hurry, begging him to forgive Cao Zhi for being a brother.
Xelloss had to listen to his mother. Besides, it's disgraceful to kill one's brother for a trivial matter, so Cao Zhi was only relieved of his post as a Linzi Hou and reduced to a lower title.
It is said that after Cao Pi summoned Cao Zhi, he was asked to write a seven-step poem to punish him. If you can do it, you can save him from death.
Simple thought for a moment,' s a step, a step, read a sentence, literally read a poem:
"Boiling beans and burning beans,
The beans are crying in the kettle.
Originally born from the same root,
What's the hurry? "
After hearing this, Cao Pi felt that he had pushed his brother too hard and felt ashamed, so he was relieved of Cao Zhi's capital crime.
Cao Pi became Wang Wei, who was as fearless of being judged as his father. In the autumn of this year, his cronies signed a letter urging Emperor Han Xian to give way to Wang Wei.
Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty served as the nominal emperor for more than 30 years. After receiving the letter from the minister, he announced his abdication and changed his name to Shanyanggong. Cao Pi's cronies also held a grand abdication ceremony, saying that the imperial power of the Han Dynasty was ceded voluntarily by Xian Di.
In 220 AD, Cao Pi proclaimed himself emperor and established the Wei Dynasty, namely Wei Wendi. By this time, Wang's rule in the Eastern Han Dynasty had officially ended.
