Jiang Kui (Kuí) (1154-1221) was born in Poyang, Raozhou (now Poyang County, Jiangxi Province). Writers and musicians in the Southern Song Dynasty. He is a poor boy, who has tried many times. He has never been an official all his life, and he has been wandering the rivers and lakes all his life, helping his friends by selling words for a living. He is versatile, proficient in temperament, able to compose his own music, and clear pronunciation and mellow voice. His works are famous for their ethereal subtlety. Jiang Kui is good at poetry, prose, calligraphy and music, and is another rare artistic all-rounder after Su Shi. His sequel "Pu" was written after Sun's "Pu", but it was not a continuation of "Pu". The whole volume is divided into eighteen chapters, such as general introduction, original works, calligraphy, cursive script, calligraphy, running script, copying, Fiona Fang, back-to-back, position, density, Shen Feng, belatedness, brushwork, emotion, blood, calligraphy and Dan. All aspects of calligraphy art have been truly expressed. It is the most accomplished and influential academic work in the Southern Song Dynasty. Jiang Kui's idea of "worshipping gold and belittling Tang Dynasty" and opposing vulgar books is consistent with Su Dongpo, Huang Tingjian and Mi Fei's idea of advocating literati's interest. However, he did not totally deny the Law of the Tang Dynasty, but used a lot of space to systematically and comprehensively discuss it, and extended the ancient law of Jinyun from affirmation and explanation.
