How to write beautiful words

Personally, if you want to practice writing well, the key is not how much you write, whether you copy or copy, or even who you learn from, but whether you use your head when writing.

When you are copying a book, you must learn to read the structure of words. Many people copied it countless times, but it was still ugly, or finally wrote a word, but the similar structure could not be written. For beginners who are practicing calligraphy, they can't write beautiful words by muscle memory. You must understand a word first, and then fix it into muscle memory through a lot of practice.

First, give an example of how to look at the proportion of a word.

Like "me". This is an extremely common word. The key to writing this word well lies in proportion. For example, the vertical hook on the left is roughly divided into three equal parts with horizontal sum, the vertical hook and oblique hook on the long horizontal above are roughly divided into three equal parts, and the oblique hook on the right is roughly divided into three equal parts with long horizontal sum. If you understand this proportion division, the word will not be too ugly to write down. Many people write about me and always feel that some places are too crowded and some places are too loose, probably because the division is too uneven. After writing "I", we must learn to draw inferences from others, such as "Wu" and "Reform Movement". You see, there is a similar situation in division.

Secondly, remember some common collocation relationships between strokes. For example, if the word bottoms of the left and right structures are vertical and horizontal respectively, the lowest point of the vertical structure must be lower than the lowest point of the horizontal structure, such as "Dan", "Ren" and "Ren". For stroke groups, such as left and right, left and right, there is a similar relationship, which can be summarized by observing a large number of similar words.

Third, look at the center of gravity of the word. Many people write the right proportion, but they think that the word "crooked" is often because of the unstable center of gravity. The most common example is "le". When writing, most people bend the hook in the lower part a little and stop, so the words appear to the left. The hook of the lower vertical hook should be roughly on a vertical line with the endpoint of the horizontal hook. If the vertical hook can't reach this line, it will fall to the left, and if it passes, it will fall to the right. In addition, this vertical line should be roughly divided into horizontal stalks, otherwise the big head will easily fall to the left or right.

Finally, there are many other proportional structures that need to be discovered slowly through a lot of observation. After learning the structure of a word, it needs to be consolidated into muscle memory through a lot of writing.

My mother has attached great importance to my writing since primary school and has been asking me to practice copybooks. After practicing intermittently for several years, the handwriting is still ugly. It was not until I was in the fifth or sixth grade that I learned it from a calligraphy teacher. He told me a little about the structure of Chinese characters, and it took me two months to learn it. The font can be said to have changed overnight. Of course, I also wrote a lot to consolidate my feelings after understanding. )

The above is probably my little experience. To sum up a sentence, learn words with your brain first, and then write by hand.
