In the summer of 1991, Zu Bin came to Huaxing Company after graduating from Southeast University. Since then, he has been closely associated with engineering projects and has also formed an indissoluble bond with my country's nuclear power construction industry.
In 1993, he participated in the construction of Pakistan's Chashma Nuclear Power Plant.
After Zu Bin returned to China in 1997, he immediately invested in the construction of the Qinshan Three Nuclear Project. With his solid technology, proficient foreign language proficiency and good coordination skills, he established a good working relationship with the general contractor Atomic Energy Corporation of Canada (AECL), creating a good atmosphere for Huaxing Company during the on-site construction. He actively learned and drew on advanced management technology and management experience, and took the lead in introducing excellent foreign engineering management P3 software in the project management department, which was the first among Qinshan's nuclear power construction companies. In 1998, sliding form construction technology was used for the first time in the construction of the containment of the Qinshan No. 3 nuclear reactor building. This was the first time in my country's nuclear power construction. For Huaxing Company, the construction period is short, the requirements are high, and it is quite difficult. Just as everyone was making final preparations for the slip form construction work on No. 1 Nuclear Island, the on-site person in charge of AECL approached Zu Bin, then deputy manager of the project department and general director of the slip form construction, and said with a stern look: "You must be certain about the node target this time." It can't be realized!" Zu Bin felt very uncomfortable after hearing this. He is not only worried about whether the node goals can be achieved as scheduled, but also feels that this is foreign parties' contempt for the Chinese people's capabilities. A feeling of unwillingness to admit defeat arises spontaneously. He told the other party in English: "No, we will definitely complete the node."
In order to fulfill his promise, Zu Bin hosted a meeting of construction team leaders, mobilized before the battle, and encouraged everyone to do a good job in all aspects. Quality and progress ensure that the device assembly is completed on time and the construction period is ensured.
Under his leadership, the project department made a lot of meticulous preparations. Finally, the slip-form construction of Nuclear Island No. 1 was completed three days ahead of schedule and set a world record of 3.5 meters of lift per day. In February 1999, the slip form construction of the No. 2 nuclear island began. Huaxing Company completed the construction in 14 days and 4 hours, breaking the world record of 17 days and 10 hours for the same type of reactor in Wolseong, South Korea, and the daily lifting speed reached 4.25 meters. The construction period has been shortened by nearly 1/3, and the construction quality has reached the world-class level. Canadian experts commented that Huaxing Company is the best organized and fastest company with top-notch construction quality.
In 1999, Zu Bin was appointed as assistant to the general manager of Huaxing Company and general manager of the Qinshan Tertiary Nuclear Project Management Department. At the beginning of taking office, he actively carried out internal reforms and management innovations and put management work on the important agenda.
