Historical evaluation
A famous anecdote in modern times called _ Liang "one of the museum directors". Zhang Ertian said _ Liang "wrote the story of Manchu literature in the Ten Dynasties, and he insisted on Chen, not waiting to check Chen's records." He only talks about things in depth, and likes to be different from others. His writing is weak and not longer than his editing. When it comes to discussing issues, he is unique. "
_ Liang contributed to the writing and revision of the Draft of Qing History.
Zhao wrote an article from the perspective of "On the Academic Organization of the Qing History Museum and the Gains and Losses of the Compilation of the Qing History Draft", focusing on the mistakes in the Qing history draft:
The first volume of History of the Qing Dynasty includes three manuscripts of Taizu Zhi in turn, and the contribution numbers of the National Palace Museum in Taipei are 20 10000 1, 20 10000002, 20 1000482 (hereinafter referred to as 0062). On the cover of 002 manuscript, the words "_ Liang Re-edited Jin Re-measured Ke Shao Re-measured" are marked, which means that this manuscript was re-measured by _ Liang Re-edited Jin and Ke Shao.
The handwriting on the clip on the title page of 002 manuscript is scrawled, written by Ke Shao _. _ Liang comments on Ke Shao _ Revised edition of Taizong Chronicle: "I see it painted horizontally and vertically, beyond recognition. I covered Deng Xiaoxian's manuscript and added some rough places, but the people in the museum couldn't recognize it. Excuse me, Ke, Ke can't recognize it either. "
Most of the historical mistakes in the Chronicle of Taizu originated from the rewriting process of Liang. Of course, the reviewers of the 002 manuscript, Jin and Ke Shao _, and the proofreader before the publication of the Draft of Qing History should also bear certain responsibilities, but the main responsibility should be borne by Liang.
_ Liang didn't just abridge the manuscript, but supplemented it. Zhuang believes that the content of the revised edition is mainly based on Donghua Record. Liang used other historical materials in the supplement, and did not check Donghua Record carefully.
There are two kinds of historical errors in the version of Fu Liang, one is compilation error, and the other is writing error. The reason is that the proofreading of the manuscript is neglected in the process of rewriting and re-exploration, and the proofreading of Qing Draft is the way to find these mistakes. If any of the three authors Liang, Jin and Ke Shao could examine the manuscript carefully, most of the above mistakes would not have occurred. As a result, not only did the editors and reviewers fail to do so, but even the original author didn't check it carefully with his first draft when he saw the copy. From another point of view, if Liang's collation and Jin's and Ke Shao's collation can be more detailed, then the compilation quality of Qing Dynasty Draft Taizu Benji will be greatly improved. Considering the current political turmoil, lack of funds and other objective conditions, and the final positioning of the Draft of Qing History is only a draft, we can't blindly criticize the sloppy attitude of our predecessors, but the experience and lessons can indeed be used for reference by the current intensive project of Draft of Qing History.
