The historical evolution of the old field

Xuzhou Laotongchang Tea House was originally named "Tongchang Tea House". The owner's name is Wang Zetian, a native of Jixian County, Hebei Province. He was an apprentice in Beijing Xin Ming Teahouse. He is highly appreciated by his boss because he is diligent and proficient in business. Later, I started my own business and opened the "Wang Dachang Tea Shop" in the south of Henan. Thanks to his good management, his business is thriving. Semicolons have been added in Zhengzhou, Xuchang, Shangqiu, Bo County (now Bozhou), An and Lanzhou. In the year of 14 (1925), Shen Yuting, Ma and others were sent to Xuzhou to build a semicolon, which was named "Tongchang Teahouse", meaning to share prosperity with Wang Dachang in Kaifeng. The shopkeeper arranged Shen Yuting to be the chief shopkeeper, and stipulated that he should purchase goods from Henan head office, settle accounts once a month and hand in profits. The chief shopkeeper inherits the management style of the head office, wins the trust of customers, is genuine and childlike; Win the trust of the clerk internally, so as to be confident and motivate him to make progress. Therefore, business is booming and financial resources are abundant.

1938 was bombed by Japanese planes, and Tongchang Teahouse, which had been prosperous for many years, was in ruins, with assets wiped out and people scattered. The following year, the original second-hand cabinet horse returned to Xuzhou to find the original store staff and invited celebrities in the same industry to discuss the restoration and revitalization of the teahouse. After discussion, it was decided to raise funds to set up a joint-stock store and use the two kitchens left by the original site to resume business. Ma was appointed as the big shopkeeper and the second shopkeeper. He broke away from Kaifeng head office and changed "Tongchang Tea House" to "Old Tongchang Tea House". The famous calligrapher Wei Tianchi inscribed the plaque. During the Japanese occupation of Xuzhou, the tea source in the south was blocked, and the teahouse sent staff to Jinan and Tianjin to buy "Japanese tea" and "Taiwanese tea". The business was bleak, so it made a living and rebuilt the shop at the original site. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, the teahouse took high quality and low price, small profits but quick turnover as its purpose, and painstakingly managed to maintain its business. After the founding of New China, the material exchange between urban and rural areas was unprecedentedly active, and the tea market also expanded. The teahouse in the old copper factory has been revived and developed. The store continues to carry forward the traditional business characteristics, encourages employees to continuously improve the level of business services, and rejuvenates the old brand, showing a prosperous scene.

The management characteristics of Laotongchang Tea House are quality first, reasonable price, accurate measurement and thoughtful service. In order to ensure the quality of tea, the best tea blank and superior flower are selected from the producing area, and the operating rules are strictly implemented. In order to prevent the tea from being distorted, stale and damp, six prohibitions were imposed on employees: not eating food with pungent taste; Don't wear heavy makeup; No long nails; It is not allowed to bring wet rain gear and odorous articles into counters and warehouses; Do not sell other goods at the same counter; It is not allowed to repackage tea at the counter (there is a special packaging room). In addition, there is a perfect management and supervision system for tea quality, price and measurement, and employees are also required to have a physical examination every six months. There are also some customer service regulations, such as insisting on sending tea to the elderly and the disabled all the year round, which are widely praised by people.

In order to expand the business advantages of time-honored brands, in the 1980s, six branches were opened in Peixian, Fengxian, Jiawang and Xuzhou, and more than 100 distribution offices were set up in Shandong, Anhui, Henan and other provinces and cities, forming a business network, which greatly increased business coverage and sales. The store was awarded the title of "National Advanced Enterprise in Finance and Trade System" by the Ministry of Commerce, and was named "Civilized Unit" twice by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. In June, 1989, chess players such as Nie Weiping, Cao Dayuan and Shen Guosun came to the tea party. Chess saint Nie Weiping praised: "Wow, it's really an old shop and a famous shop." And Shen Guosun wrote the same inscription: "Chess and tea are the same".
