Mr. Wang loved painting and calligraphy since childhood, but his family was poor. After graduating from junior high school, he dropped out of school and took part in geological work. After working practice and self-study, he was promoted to engineer. In his thirties, he began to study calligraphy and seal cutting with the famous stele engraver Mr. Huang Xiaoyun, and taught himself freehand flower-and-bird painting. Its seal cutting is based on Qin and Han Dynasties. At first, it was hard to get in with a blunt knife, and the seal style was wide and rich. In recent years, due to eye diseases, it has been changed to a thin-edged sharp knife. The knife is like a chop, and the heart is chasing Han bricks and bronzes. The style is ancient and unique. The carved Xiao-shaped seal is simple and elegant, which is praised by colleagues.
Mr. Wang's calligraphy is good at running script and seal script. Its seal script has the strength of bronze writing and the vastness of brick literature and art, and it wins with momentum. The freehand brushwork of flower-and-bird painting and calligraphy is hearty, incisive and won the brushwork.
