Beijing Dongcheng University for the Aged, 1985, an independent legal entity and institution approved by Dongcheng District People's Government in July, is an education and training institution for the elderly.
Since its establishment, under the attention and leadership of successive district committees and governments, after more than 30 years of development, the school has formed a teaching pattern of 10 majors such as western painting, photography and calligraphy, with 100 classes (including various professional classes) every year.

Beijing Haidian University for the Aged, founded on September 5th, 1984, is the first university for the aged in Beijing, belonging to private collective institutions, with Qi Xin as legal person and president. The school focuses on calligraphy and painting teaching, combining poetry, calligraphy, painting and printing teaching.
There are six-year ordinary classes of calligraphy and Chinese painting, one to four-year specialized classes of calligraphy and painting, and specialized classes of poetry and seal cutting at the junior, middle and senior levels. The school's painting and calligraphy research institute has various painting and calligraphy seminars and researcher lectures for high-level examinations.
