Creation background
According to the records of the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, this poem was written by Li Bai when he sacrificed to the Hanlin in Chang 'an. One day in the spring of the second year of Tianbao (743) or the third year of Tianbao (744) of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, when Tang Xuanzong and Yang Fei were watching peony flowers in the palace Chenxiang Temple, they asked Hanlin and other Li Bai to enter the palace to write a new movement. Li Bai wrote this poem on Jinhua stationery when he entered the palace by letter.
This poem is ingenious in imagination, handy and unpretentious. The language in the poem is rich and colorful, and every word flows, praising the fullness of the imperial concubine, but not showing traces.
