1955 was admitted to the history department of Nankai University.
From 65438 to 0957, he transferred to the Department of Art History of the Central Academy of Fine Arts to study China's art history and painting theory. After half a year, he transferred to the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting, where he studied under teachers such as Wu Zuoren, Ye, Li Keran and so on. 1963 After graduation, he was assigned to work in the creative group of the Chinese History Museum, and together with Shen Congwen, he compiled the costume materials of China in past dynasties and copied many excellent paintings of ancient China.
1978 transferred to the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts to teach.
1984 was transferred to the Oriental Art Department of Nankai University in Tianjin as the dean. He donated more than 3 million yuan to build this department.
As a member of China Artists Association, he is good at sketching, abandoning sketching, and being a splash-ink figure, striving to catch up with ancient Liang Kai, with rich pen and ink and vivid modeling. He is also good at poetry and calligraphy.
"Little Map of Doug Ling" is in Fan Ceng Art Museum in Okayama. "Eight Immortals" and so on in China Art Museum; Ode to Autumn Sound is in Birmingham Museum, USA.
He has published Illustrated Novels by Lu Xun, Paintings by Fan Ceng, Paintings by Fan Ceng, Xu Beihong, One Hundred Paintings by Fan Ceng, Singing Grass by Fan Ceng, Painting and Calligraphy by Fan Ceng, Embrace by Fan Ceng, Self-report by Fan Ceng, etc.
1982 won the Japan-China cultural exchange commemorative cup, and 1986 won the gold medal of the special contribution award of Japan-China artistic exchange.
Fan Ceng Art Museum was completed in Okayama on 1984.
