Tianjin Agricultural University, founded in 1976, is the only agricultural college in Tianjin. It is a university undertaking the National "973 Plan" and "863 Plan". Selected into the first batch of excellent agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan and national defense education characteristic schools. It is an urban modern agricultural college with agriculture as the main body and coordinated development of agriculture, industry, management, science, economics and literature.
There are eight municipal experimental teaching demonstration centers: agronomy experimental teaching center, agricultural analysis experimental teaching center, agricultural electrification and automation experimental teaching center, agricultural information technology experimental teaching center, agricultural product processing and quality and safety control experimental teaching center, economic management experimental teaching center, animal medicine experimental teaching center and gardening experimental teaching center.
As of March 20 14, there are 1 1 secondary colleges, namely, College of Agronomy and Resources and Environment, College of Fisheries, College of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, College of Animal Science and Animal Medicine, College of Food Science and Bioengineering, school of economics and management, College of Engineering and Technology, College of Humanities, College of Hydraulic Engineering, College of Computer and Information Engineering, and Foundation.
There are also two teaching departments, namely, the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Social Sciences, as well as the College of Continuing Education and the Vocational and Technical College. The motto of Tianjin Agricultural University is "Be studious and ask more questions, bow your head and study hard". It means that diligence is the premise of students' success, and being good at asking questions is the key to students' success. "bow your head and be a willing ox" emphasizes hands-on and is close to agriculture, countryside and farmers. "Inquiry into Sensitivity" focuses on the accumulation of theoretical knowledge.
Combined with the characteristics of agriculture in our school, "bow tillage" implies labor practice, embodies "unity of knowledge and practice" and combines theory with practice.
