"Smoke and Cloud Gathering" No. 11: Couplet

Four calligraphy and painting teachers from Qinhan Hutong, Zhu Guozhen, Ma Chiyuan, Wu Fuxi and Lu Yiyi, will appear together. The exhibition of cutting-edge calligraphy and painting is very exciting. Due to chance, I was lucky enough to take a first look at the leopard. It was a couplet written by teacher Zhu Guozhen: The misty trees floated in the distance, and the mist of spring floated, and the sailboat floated around the moon.

"Couple of Smoked Trees and Sailboats" by Lu Qiu

Zhu Guozhen, courtesy name Lu Qiu, was born in Heze, Shandong. Born in a scholarly family and a hometown of calligraphy and painting, Mr. Wang Shuangqiang, the founder of Qinhan Hutong, jokingly called him "Luqiu" because he worshiped Zhongni. Lu Qiu is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. He has been teaching and researching calligraphy at the Qinhan Hutong Chinese Academy of Sciences for 4 years. His lectures are lively and simple, and can be enjoyed by both octogenarians and young girls. He has won great popularity in the Shanghai calligraphy and cultural circles. Famous people such as Chen Pengju, Han Tianheng, Tang Cuncai and others praised it. The series of calligraphy textbooks he participated in the compilation are also very popular.

This pair of regular script couplets by Lu Qiu is neat and dignified, bold and unruly, and full of skill. The postscript above reads "Seven words in running script, Lin Zexu's reading in the east, Guancao and the west room", and the postscript after the couplet says, "Shao Mu Lin Zexu has this sentence". Lu Qiu admired the sages and copied Lin Zexu's couplets.

Looking at Lianyu, a beautiful scene appeared in front of my eyes: in the early morning, the mist was light, and the trees were as dense as smoke, and their shadows were floating in the air. The boat raised its sails, untied its cables, and swayed lightly in the sky under the moonlight...

The couplet drafted by Shao Mu is both tranquil, free and easy, and also carries a touch of resentment. , is not like a frontier official who wields power and thousands of troops. Perhaps, he grew up in the leisure time of the small officials in southern Fujian, or maybe he was driven thousands of miles away from the mountains?

In ancient times, literati would always collect some elegant poems or life aphorisms and write them into couplets to encourage themselves or give them to others for appreciation. The same is true for Lin Zexu's couplet. The first couplet "The misty trees float far away in the misty spring sky" comes from a poem by Zhang Lei, one of the four scholars of the Su family: The misty trees float far away in the misty spring sky, and the scenery is motionless and the sun is gloomy. The smoky dense forest is as empty and swaying as spring, and the surrounding scenery is as motionless as mountains, setting off the gray sun, making it dizzy. The second couplet is excerpted from a poem by the great writer Su Dongpo: Water pillows can make mountains pitch down, and sailboats can float around like the moon. The water is the "pillow" of the mountains, and the mountains lie on the water; the wind is the boat, carrying the moon around the world. Two couplets of poems, one gloomy and deep, the other elegant, excerpted from one of the two couplets respectively, highlight the contradiction and hesitation in Shao Mu's state of mind. He is asking himself: The light is far away, why not live a wild life?

Lin Zexu is brave in the wind and rain, and has a lot of unruly destiny. What he thinks and says is not far from the country. Zhang Zhao was different. This Qianlong favorite and master of the palace had other thoughts. The couplet says: Able to know the light and medium taste, it is elegantly called the Bamboo House. In the quiet conversation, you can appreciate the taste of life; when it comes to elegant people, a small thatched cottage is no longer an ordinary residence, but is called "Bamboo Room Residence". This couplet comes from Qiu Zhuzhai's "Posting a Question to Gao Shi Danxuan". Qiu Zhuzhai is Qiu Wanqing, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, whose poems are clear and fluent. Born in a relatively stable era, Qiu Wanqing longed for the style of the Wei and Jin Dynasties and pursued elegance and leisure, which was in line with Zhang Zhao's thoughts, and this was also the common sentiment of literati. Lu Qiu's couplet is written in running script, with graceful writing style and coherent structure, which is in line with the elegance of Qiu and Zhang, the two sages who are not slow, not tight, and full of confidence. However, Qiu Wanqing once wrote the poem "Guixing" when he was in court: "When I was a child, I only thought that being an official would be good, but when I get older, I realize that the journey is difficult." I think he was a conscientious and dedicated person.

Literati have their own leisure interests. Not only can they find pleasure in ancient poems, but they can also use some anecdotes to compose couplets. For example, Wu Dacheng, a master of epigraphy in the late Qing Dynasty, has a couplet: Literacy came from Yang Zizhai, and scripture transmission came from the palace of the King of Lu. To learn how to read and write, one must go to a university like Yang Xiong to become a disciple; to preach scriptures and preach, one must come from the legendary Palace of Lu.

There is an allusion in the Lu Palace: According to legend, King Liu Gong of Lu, the son of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty, once destroyed the old residence of Confucius in order to expand himself When he entered Confucius's palace, he could faintly hear the sound of gold, stone, silk and bamboo, and he felt his hair tingling, so he gave up. The romantic emperor Tang Minghuang paid tribute to Confucius through Zou Lu, and wrote this poem:

What is the master, he lives in one generation. ?

The land is still the town of Zou, and the house is the palace of the King of Lu. ?

I sigh at the phoenix's body, hurt Lin and complain about the poor way.

Looking at the two couplets today, it should be the same as the dream.

The Ming Emperor said, Lao Kong, your house almost became the palace of King Lu. From then on, Lu Palace became synonymous with Confucius’ residence. Confucius was the most sage teacher of Dacheng, and he taught tirelessly throughout his life. Wu Dacheng's couplet naturally praised the teacher as an authentic successor of Confucianism.

Yang Zi, Yang Ziyun, Yang Xiong, a master of poetry in the Western Han Dynasty, is as famous as Zhuge Liang. In Liu Yuxi's "Humble Room Inscription", he mentioned "Zhuge Lu in Nanyang, Yunting in Western Shuzi". Zuo Si, a writer of the Western Jin Dynasty, has a sentence in "Eight Poems on History": Yang Zi's house is lonely, and there is no minister to look after him. It is said that for a learned man like Yang Xiong, there was never any trace of the carriages and horses of dignitaries in front of his house. This was a lashing out at the vanity and decadence of the time, and Yang Zizhai has since become synonymous with learning.

Shen Junru, an old man from the Republic of China, also has a couplet: Li Changji is good at poetry and Yang Ziyun is literate. The second couplet is also an allusion to Yang Ziyun. The first couplet is written by Li Changji, the talented poet Li He in the Tang Dynasty who wrote "Why don't men bring Wu hooks and collect the fifty states in Guanshan".

Poetry couplets, witty words to explain Yi, caressing the scrolls and chanting softly, what a joy in the world! The smoothness of Lin Shaomu's running script, the sharpness of Wu Suzhai's seal script, the neatness of Shen Junru's regular script, as well as the inclusiveness and improvement of the works of Zhu Guozhen, Ma Chiyuan, Wu Fuxi and Lu Yiyi can be lingered and wandered here, as if refreshing. ?
