For a foodie, no matter where he goes, food always comes first. Although the scenery is beautiful, I always think that food is where he can deeply feel the different local cultural characteristics. Only delicious food can live up to it, especially the seafood eaten inland is not very fresh. After I came to Zengcuo Village this time, I started to eat and drink.
Many people say that Zengcuo Village is very lively at night. You can slow down and travel between roads with snacks on both sides. You can stay at the door of the pub, listen to the songs you like, and miss the people you want. (Of course, it’s best to go in and have a drink.) Others are bustling and it has nothing to do with yourself. You just need to be quiet and let yourself go!

One month before departure, friends who had been to Xiamen kept recommending me to live in Zengcuo Village, saying it was convenient. So I looked for reservations on various apps and found that they were all homestays.
After we finished shooting on the beach, we first passed a sports park, where there were countless photo studios taking wedding photos, and people's shops were also very busy.
Then we arrived at the Calligraphy Park.
Yongzi's Eight Methods

After admiring the calligraphy in the park for a while and reminiscing about the past, we were driven by the hunger in our stomachs and the yearning for seafood, and took steps towards Zengcuo_ Village.
I don’t know why this kilometer is so long. Maybe the subway under repair is blocking the road ahead, or maybe there are too many bicycles on the road. Anyway, it took me a long time to see the archway of Zengcuo Village.

There is a unique overpass next to the archway. There are many people on it, and it seems that it will collapse at any time.
The shape of the overpass looks like a snake that has been eaten down to its skeleton, winding from the seaside to Cuokou. There seems to be no urban management personnel paying attention to the bridge. There are little vendors everywhere, and you can step on other people’s goods if you’re not careful. It instantly reminded me of the Ditan Overpass more than ten years ago.
Walking on the steps made of wooden planks, I felt a little uneasy. I held on to the handrail tightly, protecting my stomach and camera, and sneaking away from the crowd.
After a while, I saw the "food court" on the bridge.

Zengcuo_Cun Food Street
While searching for the most affordable restaurant on Dianping, I followed people off the bridge.
But the flow of people is too large, so moving to the restaurant is a technical job. So we just let it be.
In addition, I was really hungry, so I followed the crowd into the food court.
Although I haven’t liked “following the crowd” since I was a child, sometimes the public’s choice is really not wrong. The food street has a dazzling array of snacks, and the unique hospitality of southern Fujian will really not disappoint.

In fact, before coming to Xiamen, what I was most looking forward to was Taiwanese snacks. Every year, various Taiwanese food festivals are held in mainland China, but anyone who has been there has left me with many wonderful memories. So considering that Xiamen is so close to Taiwan Province, that snack must be the most authentic in recent times.
Zengcuo Village did not disappoint us.
Let’s put it this way, this well-known “small intestine wrapped in large intestine” uses three types of sausages grilled on the stone. Cut the rice sausage first, then add shredded cucumber, sweet and spicy sauce, then put on the cuttlefish sausage and sausage. The flavors of the three foods merge together to form a new taste experience, stimulated by the refreshing cucumber foil and sweet chili sauce.
It is soft and glutinous, with a compelling aroma.
Shrimp eggs (15 yuan)
This is the first time I have eaten "shrimp eggs" made with such a "high standard" octopus ball mold.
Quail egg and shrimp, no additional ingredients, very nutritious and satisfying. And the price is reasonable, you can get 12 for 15 yuan (maybe the boss gave me a few more, hahaha). Anyway, it’s really amazing. There is no fishy smell of eggs, and the shrimps are also very fresh. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside
Further inside, there is a "seafood barbecue" restaurant as far as the eye can see.
Here, we have to lament the "Wenzhou model" of Chinese store openings. Stores of the same type are clustered together, which can not only attract customers from afar, but also facilitate price comparison for customers. What's more, before a price alliance is formed, they will engage in a price war for business so that consumers can get some benefits.

Because I always feel more like Thailand mentally, so I still feel that everything is killing tourists at tourist attractions, but on the third day I went to Gulangyu Island and found that Zengcuo_ Village is really "affordable".
I found that there seemed to be a spell on me. As long as I want to eat seafood and go out, I will inevitably develop allergies for various reasons. No, although there is plenty of fresh seafood in front of you, I am allergic to a duck paw after eating it in the afternoon, so I can only look at it but not eat it.
Grilled oysters (10 oysters for 10 yuan)
No, I was pushed and shoved by the crowd, and finally squeezed into a barbecue restaurant and ordered a few stir-fries and a plate of small oysters.
In the final analysis, attractions are attractions. I won’t talk about the “little tricks” of this small store. They are nothing more than charging extra for meals and deliberately overcharging for check-out and getting the “wrong” order. But the grilled oysters still tasted pretty good. After all, the meat is tender and delicious. Too bad it's a bit small.
It is not recommended to order "sea shrimp" here. I don’t know if it’s because of the scenic spot or Xiamen’s geographical location. The shrimp here are ridiculously small and the meat is not firm, making them feel like they have been cheated. I have to sigh, seafood is still the beauty of Jiaozhou Bay. After all, a prawn caught in Qingdao for 38 yuan is the same as a prawn caught in Xiamen for 38 yuan, not the same order of magnitude.

After eating, I was naturally satisfied. I struggled out of the crowd in Zengcuo Village and got on the bus back to the hotel.
The overall feeling of Zengcuo Village is a bit like the backing road in Bangkok. Whether it's the level of excitement or the services, they're all pretty similar.

Back at the hotel, I felt a little sore in my calves at the end of the day. So I started to miss the cheap massages on the roadside in Chiang Mai. With a dreamlike melancholy, tomorrow, I will go to summer college!

1. Accommodation, the most important thing in Xiamen is BB, which can be seen in a few steps. You can move in after comparison.
