Characteristics of Xiong Fei's Works

Xiong Fei's cursive script gives a refreshing visual impact. Its cursive lines are smooth, smart, orderly and powerful. His ink is dry without cracking, moist without crying, free from chaos, superb brushwork without losing statutes, magnificent without losing elegance, and the overall layout is like a river flowing thousands of miles. I looked everywhere for the cursive writer, but I couldn't find out which context he belonged to, but he was by no means a maverick. It is no exaggeration to say that he is unique, but he is really extraordinary. This is the uniqueness of Xiong Fei's cursive script. Literary Federation is a gathering place for writers and artists, with many painters and calligraphers. Xiong Fei has been in frequent contact with them and has benefited a lot. Coupled with my own efforts and unique conditions, I was blessed and finally learned something, breaking out of a world of my own.

Writing should be casual but not casual, fonts should be wild but not floating, pen and ink should be dry but not cracked, words should be moist but not crowing, words should be oblique and straight, brushwork should be free and easy, brushwork should be magnificent and elegant, the overall layout is like flowing water, there are swift horses in Guangtian, and it is even more difficult when Gao Chuan in Shu Road stumbles. This is his understanding of calligraphy.

There are several inspirations from reading Xiong Fei's calligraphy. First, it is imposing and bold in writing, but it is open and closed. The momentum and implication of the book are in place and the layout is rigorous and orderly. Form and meaning are dry and floating, and there is a quiet atmosphere. Second, the changes in brushwork are exaggerated and conform to the statutes. From his book style, we can find the shadow of the ancients, as well as the traces of modern people, more of which are his own things.
