Calligraphy couplets by calligrapher Tang Tuo in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China

Tang Tuo, formerly known as Cheng Lie, was named Zi Quan, with the name Qu Ren. I was poor when I was a child. Jiangsu Wujin people. Because of the incorrect writing posture, he became hunchbacked and changed his name to Tang Tuo. His calligraphy is beautiful, vigorous, subtle and simple, and he is called tang style. He and Shen, Ma, and Tiantai Mountain are also called the four masters of inscriptions. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was fashionable to ask him to write city placards or his copybooks.
