Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, formerly known as Central South Academy of Fine Arts, was established in Wuhan, Hubei Province on 1953 according to the layout of national construction. It was formed by the merger of relevant departments and personnel of Central South College of Literature and Art, South China People's College of Literature and Art, Guangxi College of Art and other institutions.
