World master of architectural calligraphy

Kang Youwei is a controversial figure in modern history. Some people say that Kang Youwei is a master of calligraphy and a champion of calligraphy in modern history. Some people say that this bad old man is very bad. As the leader of the Reform Movement of 1898, he preached advanced ideas and monogamy, but he married six aunts. However, throughout Kang Youwei's life, his merits and demerits all began with the Reform Movement of 1898.

Kang Youwei, born in 1858, is a native of Danzao Su Village, Nanhai County, guangzhou fu, Guangdong Province. Guangxu five years (1879), 2 1 year old, began to contact western culture. On the one hand, he was shocked by the diversity and richness of western culture. On the other hand, he had to study hard to gain fame.

In the 14th year of Guangxu (1888), Kang Youwei went to Beijing to take the rural examination in Shuntian. Originally, he wanted to take this opportunity to write to Emperor Guangxu asking for political reform, but the political affairs at that time were still controlled by Cixi, so he didn't get it in the end. It was not until the 24th year of Guangxu (1898) that Guangxu secretly summoned Kang Youwei in the Summer Palace to discuss political reform.

The Reform Movement of 1898 was officially implemented from June 1898 1 1, including advocating scientific culture, reforming the political education system and establishing modern industrial and mining enterprises. However, the Reform Movement of 1898 harmed the interests of Cixi and the ministers of the older generation.

1898, 16 In June, Empress Dowager Cixi forced Guangxu to issue three orders to control personnel appointment and dismissal and local military and political power. Soon after, a coup was staged and Emperor Guangxu was imprisoned. The reform that lasted 103 days failed.

Tan Sitong and other six gentlemen were killed, while Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao, the two main promoters of the political reform, fled to France and Japan respectively. Kang Youwei began to "escape" overseas.

Kang Youwei is not so much "fleeing" as traveling around the world. He used his reputation overseas to gather many patriotic overseas Chinese. 1On July 20th, 899, he formally established the "royalist society", which was not allowed to enter casually, and members had to pay 2 yuan membership fees.

I didn't expect Kang Youwei to attract nearly one million members all over the world. There are still many wealthy businessmen among so many members, so the "membership fee" is naturally more. Kang Youwei is like the chairman. Wherever he goes, he stays in luxury hotels and eats rich western food.

Kang Youwei fled to Sweden on 1908. He looked at the endless ocean and remembered the magnificent scenery of the North Pole, and his heroic spirit was born. He decided to spend a lot of money to buy an island in a seaside town in the southeast of Stockholm.

In order to express his homesickness, Kang Youwei also built many China garden-like buildings on the island and went to a very elegant literary name called "Beihai Caotang".

If you think Kang Youwei is going to retire here, you are wrong. He left after only three years. Because the island has been empty for a long time, many buildings built by Kang Youwei on the island have been eroded by waves and rain.

More than a hundred years later, the original garden-like buildings on the island have long since disappeared. Moreover, the island was eventually recycled by the Swedish government and transformed into a tourist attraction, but many locals still habitually call this island Kang Youwei Island.
