Guo Yongqiang: Egret Zen painter from Gansu.

Guo Yongqiang, Mr. Fang Cun, a contemporary Zen painter; Born in Qingyang, Gansu, 1986, I liked writing since I was a child, and I didn't do anything until I met painting. He studied under Xie Guoqiang, a member of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, Zhao Lixian, a researcher at China Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and finally under Zhang Xuewen, a famous painter in China. Since then, the road of painting and calligraphy has been opened.

20 12 by chance, he successfully learned painting from China painters, and the next day he began to copy the paintings of famous ancient China painters such as Huang, Shi Tao, Badashanren, Xu Wei and Wang Meng. For seven years, I painted 8- 10 hours every day. During this period, I was misled by Nanluzi, a contemporary eccentric, and inspired by Hony's ink. After seven years of persistence, I drew my own Zen painting with time and sweat.

When Guo Yongqiang paints, he relaxes and concentrates. Concise brushwork, broad artistic conception, clear and pure, in the simple and far-reaching brushwork of dust removal realm, it embodies a minimalist thought that is not based on words but directly points to the heart and an intuitive Zen state that stands out from the crowd.

Guo Yongqiang is famous for painting egrets; Other countries paint cranes, and I prefer egrets. If cranes symbolize wealth and longevity, I love the elegance and tranquility of egrets more; Different from cranes, egrets are all the same color, pure and innocent, graceful, just like virgins, and homophonic with "land", so I prefer them.

I said, it doesn't matter what you draw at first, what matters is that your heart should be sincere. Buddha said that a flower and a world, a leaf and a bodhi, the size of what you draw has nothing to do with your mind; Therefore, I also like painting insects. Before I start painting, I want to have a clear understanding of them. I need to know which leg is short, which leg is long, which leg is thick and which leg is thin. So the painted insects are simple and smart.

Some people may say, isn't this also a kind of persistence? Aren't you a craftsman? I said that you don't have skills in your heart, and you won't have skills in painting. Learning to observe nature is to express yourself better, just like learning to walk and talk with us. The key lies in the mood of the writer, so I especially like Mr. Xu Beihong's six words, "implicative and broad."

With the advent of the media age, I also opened Weibo and Tik Tok, where you can enjoy more of my paintings. I am Guo Yongqiang, a post-80s Zen painter, and I especially like painting egrets.
