Xing Youzu was born in Bianliang, Henan Province (now Kaifeng City) and moved to Shuihou Village, Wenjiao Town, Wenchang City in the early Southern Song Dynasty. Six ancestors Xuanyi, known as Wenchang County in Song Dynasty, Gao Bozu Huang Meng, known as Wanan Army in Southern Song Dynasty, and his great-grandfather was the magistrate of Qiongshan and Wenchang counties in Yuan Dynasty.
When Xing You was an official, he was famous for being good at solving puzzles. In the first year of Jingtai (1450), he was in charge of supervising the suggestion. It happened that the eunuch Wang Zhenjia had an accident and his property was robbed. At that time, Wang Zhen's family Sun Taian was falsely accused of hiding money, and more than 20 people were arrested. The court appointed Xing You and Jin Yiwei to try the case in Xin. Yu Xin advocated the immediate confiscation of the Sun family's property and rudely threatened: "Otherwise, disaster will come." Xing You was calm, decisive and impartial. After many close investigations, it was confirmed that the case was forged, thus saving dozens of lives. Win the applause of local people.
In the second year of Jingtai (145 1), Xing You, the governor of Fujian Province, arrested dozens of people who were forbidden to enter the sea in just one sea inspector's rune and was sentenced to death. At the time of execution, there were complaints and tears, which shook the earth. Xing You was suspected to be a false case, so the execution was suspended. After the investigation in January, the real thief was caught, thus saving dozens of lives.
Xing You is also good at scheming. In the fifth year of Jingtai (1454), Xing You visited Liaodong and found that more than 50 officers in Shenyang had stolen the materials stored by the imperial court. Xing You considered that Shenyang was attacked on three sides. If these officers who make mistakes are severely punished, once the enemy invades, no one will lead troops to defend the city. He adopted a flexible strategy, only dismissed two officers headed by him, and the rest were punished for guarding the city. Those who make meritorious deeds can atone for their sins and be rewarded. Not long after, the enemy invaded Shenyang, and these more than 50 officers who were treated leniently heroically killed the enemy, made contributions to protect the city, and saved Shenyang from danger.
In the fourth year of Emperor Yingzong's reign in Zhu Qizhen (1460), Xing Yousheng, 44, was appointed as the magistrate of Taizhou (now Linhai County, Zhejiang Province). Xing You was recommended by Song Jie to go to the DPRK because he was "honest and clean, strict and not harsh" and was promoted to the position of Chief Secretary of Zhejiang. In the autumn of the second year of Chenghua, he was promoted to Duchayuan, left as Nanji Governor, military and civilian Governor, and also managed the grain depot of Kangsanfu in West Lake, Zhejiang Province. During his tenure, Xing You often "consulted officials, observed people's concealment, rewarded honesty and ability, ignored greed and cowardice, suppressed arrogance and arrogance, and did not do trivial and careless things". According to Ming History, Xingyi deposed 170 incompetent officials. In the winter of the same year, Wei Xing was also in charge of salt affairs in Zhejiang, and was "guilty of forging documents".
In the fifth year of Chenghua, Xing You, a 53-year-old imperial envoy, was the governor of Jiangnan and Zhejiang. "Where military affairs and people's feelings are sick and officials want to learn them, they can't play first."
In the sixth year of Chenghua, Xing You formally resigned from the court. After repeated requests, the emperor approved him. After resigning from his post, Xing You returned to his hometown Shuihou Village, Wenchang City, and built a "Meiqiu Caoting" on the hill north of Dongkun Port to amuse himself by reading and writing, hence the name "Meiqiu Taoist". Although in his later years, he still clung to the book I have never traveled to the city. He wrote ten volumes of Qiu Mei Ji, two of which still exist today. Qiu Jun, a great poet and scholar in Hainan in the Ming Dynasty, commented on Xing You's works: "Although there are few poems, there must be interesting words, and calligraphy and painting are also beautiful."
In the seventeenth year of Xianzong Chenghua (148 1), Xing You died on May 20th at the age of sixty-five. In the second year after Xing You's death, Xian Zong ordered does to prepare sacrificial vessels, and the Imperial Academy wrote an article, issued an official order and was buried in the sun of Tongdou Mountain.
Xing You's Tomb is located in the south of Tongdou Mountain, Tongdou Village, Wenjiao Town, Wenchang City, facing south. This is the tomb where Xing You and his wife Lin were buried together. The mausoleum covers an area of 750 square meters and is divided into vestibule, Yangcheng, worship pavilion and tomb. There are Shinto, stone tablets and animals on the ground. This is a large Ming tomb.
During the Cultural Revolution, Xing You's tomb and stone carvings were a pair of animals. Although it has been unrecognizable, tourists from home and abroad come to pay their respects all year round. Now the Wenchang Municipal Government has restored and protected Xing You's tomb, so that people who come to visit and admire it can see the original appearance of this famous Ming Dynasty sage's tomb and become an important tourist landscape in Wenchang City.
Xing You and Qiu Jun are very friendly. When Qiu Jun was buried in Jingshi, he visited Xing You in Shuihou Village, Wenchang. Xing You sent Qiu Jun to Hulupu (now Dongpo Town) at the junction of Qiongshan and Wenchang. Later generations specially built a "Yue Pavilion" to commemorate their friendship. This pavilion is located in the south of Dongpo Town, Qiongshan City.
