Chen Yunsheng’s achievements and honors

In March 1938, Japanese planes bombed Lanling and the people fled. Chen Yunsheng returned to his home in Changwang Village, Linyi. After the Japanese invaders heard the news, they sent the traitor Qi Huating to the countryside to invite Chen to join the Xinminhui in the city and write propaganda for the Japanese invaders. Chen immediately sternly refused. During the entire Anti-Japanese War, Chen Yunsheng never wrote a single word to the Japanese traitors. His national integrity is admirable.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Chen Yunsheng was invited by the Linyi Council to go to the city and participate in the construction of the Revolutionary Martyrs Tower. He carefully wrote the inscription and the names of the martyrs for the Martyrs Tower. In 1947, the Kuomintang reactionaries attacked Linyi, and he moved to live in seclusion in the countryside. Later, he was very sad to learn that the Martyrs Tower had been destroyed by the Kuomintang troops. At this moment, Wang Hongjiu sent someone to ask him to write the door box. After refusing the first time, he planned to arrest him by force the second time. Fortunately, his students heard about it and reported it, so Chen Yunsheng took up his book and traveled around selling letters and escaped.

After Linyi was liberated again in 1948, Chen Yunsheng saw the light of day again and immediately returned to live in the city. He ended his career of selling letters and devoted himself to the work of the newly established tower construction committee. There are many ink marks by Chen Yunsheng in the current Cemetery of East China Revolutionary Martyrs. The inscriptions on the Shandong South Party Committee, Shandong South Administrative Office, and Shandong South Military Region northwest of the Martyrs Memorial Tower were written by him in neat official script. The tombstone of martyr Wang Lushui was also written by him in neat block letters. Inside the memorial hall He also wrote many famous monuments to the martyrs.

The first CPPCC was established in Linyi County, and Chen Yunsheng was elected as a member of the CPPCC and placed in a cultural center. From then on, Chen Yunsheng felt that he was in a prosperous age and determined to cultivate talents for Linyi's calligraphy art. As a result, more and more students came, including government and military leaders, young people from society, and teachers and students in schools, thus promoting the development of Linyi's calligraphy art. Chen Yunsheng's calligraphy art is still popular today.

Chen Yunsheng's life was full of ups and downs, but he never wavered in his determination to practice calligraphy hard. He once wrote a bamboo and stone poem by Zheng Banqiao: He clings to the green mountains and does not relax, his roots are still in the broken rocks; he has been strong after countless blows, regardless of the east, west, north, and south winds. This poem hangs in his study, fully reflecting his emotions.
