Picture 1 East of Liujiating: Peach Blossom Spring: Tao Yuanming narrated a magical and touching story in "Peach Blossom Spring". Around the Eastern Jin Dynasty, there was a Wuling man who made a living by fishing. One day when I went fishing, I lost my way and came to a peach forest. There was a stream in the middle of the peach forest. The grass on both sides of the stream was green and the peach blossoms were colorful. The fisherman was very surprised. He continued to paddle along the stream and came to the end of the stream. The end. There is a hill at the source of the stream, and there is a cave entrance on the hill. The fisherman left the boat and walked into the cave. After only a few dozen steps, his eyes suddenly became brighter. He found himself in a village with flat land, neat houses, fertile fields and gurgling water. There are many paths in the fields, mulberry trees and bamboos in the mountains are lush, and the sound of cocks crowing and dogs barking can be heard from time to time. People work in the fields and dress differently. The elderly and children are smiling and content.
An old man was surprised to see the fisherman, asked where he came from, and enthusiastically asked her to be his guest. Kill the chickens and prepare wine to entertain the fishermen. When people in the village heard that outsiders were coming, they also came to inquire about the news. They said that their ancestors came to this isolated place to escape the wars of the Qin Dynasty and lived a quiet and peaceful life where the sun rose and the sun set. They also asked what dynasty they were in now, but they didn't know that there had been the Han Dynasty, let alone the Wei and Jin Dynasties. They were all deeply moved and invited the fisherman to their homes. A few days later, the fisherman left. The villagers asked him not to tell anyone about the situation here.
The fisherman came out of Peach Blossom Spring to find the fishing boat, returned along the original route and marked it. Returning to the county, he met with the prefect and reported his miraculous experiences. The prefect immediately sent someone to follow him to find the fairyland-like peach blossom garden. I searched for the mark all the way, but still lost my way, and could never find the way to the Peach Blossom Spring.
The painter Ren Yu of the Qing Dynasty drew the "Visiting the Peach Blossoms" based on this story. The picture in the corridor is a copy of the "Picture of the Peach Blossoms".
