The original meaning of "line" is road. There is no road in this world. There are more people to walk, and there is a way. So "line" is an action that has already happened. An "arrow" on the left of "knowledge" and a "mouth" on the right together indicate that an arrow hits the bull's eye. So "knowing" is a state, which means that you can hit the bull's-eye, and you know how to hit it. In the words of Mr. Wu:
We often say that theory guides practice, right?
Teacher Wu used Wang Yangming's example to further explain. Wang Yangming can not only fight, but also has two specialties:
Specialty can be understood as the state and realm that a few people in a field can reach. People with special skills are generally called talents, because only he can do it. There are many archers now, but few professional athletes can compete with Wang Yangming. Calligraphy, like painting, is also the synchronization of the inner world, so there is an idiom called "have answers".
At the beginning of Mr. Wu's class, I mentioned:
Cognition is a process of repeated "learning" and "learning". Learning is a process from scratch, and learning is the only way from weak connection to strong connection until dedicated line connection. Therefore, real learning is a deliberate practice, repeated constantly, to improve their cognitive level. Confucius said: it is also good to learn from the times. I think he is talking about the happiness gained in the process of cognitive improvement (growth).
As for how to achieve the height of "unity of knowledge and action", I look forward to the next chapter of Teacher Wu.
