Duan Tianshun, 1932, a native of Fangshan District, Beijing. He used to be deputy director of Beijing Water Resources Bureau, director of Civil Affairs Bureau, member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People's Congress and deputy secretary-general. He is currently a member of Beijing Local Records Compilation Committee, deputy editor of Beijing Records, president of Beijing Poetry Society and honorary president of Beijing Couplet Society. His main works include Ancient and Modern Notes on Ink-stone Water, Famous Bridges with Water Mirrors, Poems on Bamboo Branches in Ink-stone Water, Collection of Folk Gardens, Collection of Poems on Bamboo Branches in Hsinchu, etc. Editor-in-chief of Selected Poems of Contemporary Beijing, etc.
