The "Xiansheng News" of Dongzhi County No. 1 Middle School was founded in 1998. With the purpose of "enriching the second language classroom and promoting campus culture", the newspaper recruits a group of young journalists with specialties in writing, art, calligraphy, painting, photography, etc. among the freshmen every year, and has specialized instructors.
After more than 10 years of hard work, "Xian Sheng" has tutored students to publish more than 1,400 articles in more than 130 public newspapers and periodicals, including "Chinese Monthly", "Chinese Newspaper", "Liaoning Youth", and "Xin'an Evening News" articles, and won more than 200 awards in composition competitions. Ding Guocheng, former deputy editor-in-chief of "Poetry Magazine" of China Writers Association, Han Zuorong, former editor-in-chief of "People's Literature", Duan Rudong, chairman of Anhui Writers Association, famous writer Shi Nan, etc. have written inscriptions or letters for this newspaper. "Anhui Youth Daily", "Wanjiang Evening News", "Chizhou Daily", Chizhou TV Station and other media have reported on the results of this newspaper. "The Sound of Strings" has greatly mobilized students' various interests and is a good form of quality education.
