Shuanglong Cave is located in the center of Jinhua Mountain Shuanglong Scenic Area. It is the core landscape and symbol of the entire Shuanglong Scenic Area. The cave was formed about 100 million years ago and has been a natural scenic spot for more than 1,600 years.
It is 520 meters above sea level and consists of an inner cave, an outer cave and an ear cave. The cave entrance is majestic and the stalactites hanging on both sides resemble dragon heads, hence the name "Double Dragon Cave". The outer cave is spacious, covering an area of ??1,200 square meters, and can accommodate thousands of people. The cave temperature is about 15°C all year round. It is warm in winter and cool in summer. A clear spring flows from the inner cave, runs through the outer cave, and flows to the mountain lake. The water never dries up all year round and is crystal clear. Visitors who come here in summer feel like "they sweat like rain when they go up the mountain and feel cool when they enter the cave." Therefore, it is praised as "the rocks are better than Taihu Lake, and the water is better than the three springs" (Jinshan, Huishan and Hupao). The three characters "Double Dragon Cave" on the west wall of the cave entrance are attributed to the handwriting of the Tang Dynasty; the two characters "Dongtian" on the east wall are the calligraphy of Wu Lin, a calligrapher of the Song Dynasty; The family was born in the handwriting of Youren. To enter the cave, you must go through the toad's mouth and walk against the water. The cave is about 3 meters wide and 12 meters long. The water surface is about one foot from the top of the cave. To enter, visitors must lie on their backs in a small boat and are slowly sent into the cave, with their faces only a few inches away from the top of the cave. Strange yet interesting, interesting yet dangerous. "There is a spring in the cave. If you want to find the source of the spring, you lie down in a small boat." "The water is low under the pressure of the thousand-foot beam, and the light boat lies on its back and enters the Hui River." This is the unique and attractive feature of Shuanglong Cave.
When the boat arrives, the cave suddenly opens up. The inner cave covers an area of ??about more than 200 square meters. The bottom of the cave is rugged and the roof of the cave is undulating. Stalactites on the stone walls and stalagmites on the ground are criss-crossed in strange shapes. They are like people and things, each with its own style, so it is named "Yellow Dragon Spitting Water", "Frog Stealing Immortal Grass", "Dromedary Camel", "Turtle and Snake Born", "Longevity Star Fairy Peach", "Colorful Clouds Covering the Moon" , "Upside-Down Bats", "Heavenly Horses", "Turtles Exploring the Sea", "Golden Rooster Spreading Wings", "Dragon Terrace Dragon Tent", "Dragon Lin Dragon Claws" and other interesting landscapes make people dizzy and dazzled. Under the light, It feels like being in the Crystal Dragon Palace. Among them, the scene of "Yellow Dragon Spitting Water" was highly praised by the modern literary master Yu Dafu, who called it a "bonsai waterfall". When Xu Xiake, a great traveler and explorer of the Ming Dynasty, visited this cave, he wrote in his travel notes: "The cave is hung with heavy curtains, and the water and land are both strange and bright."
After swimming in the inner cave, turn back to the outer cave. You can go out through a small hole called "Long'er" in the southeast corner of the outer cave, then turn back to the northeast and go up the stairs, passing Chisong Pavilion to the curling cave.
