What myths and legends are there in Duanzhou District?
Duanzhou District has never heard of any myths and legends, but there are many historical legends, and Duanyan is very famous. Bao Gong returned to the first year of Kangding, Song Renzong, without an inkstone, and the upright official Bao Zheng (Bao Gong) was transferred to Duanzhou as a local official. Soon after he took office, he heard that successive local governors exploited the people in the name of offering tribute to Duanyan, and the inkstone workers were miserable. In order to find out, one day Bao Gong deliberately put on casual clothes and made an appointment with Xu Letian, a local enlightened gentleman, to learn about the life of inkstone workers in Huanggang Village, where inkstone workers are most concentrated. When they entered the village, they heard the jingle from a small hut. When I got closer, I saw inkstone workers in twos and threes, absorbed in chiseling inkstone blanks and carving patterns. Bao Gong took a look and saw that the hut was shabby and impenetrable, and the inkstone workers were all in rags, sallow and emaciated. At this time, an old artist sighed while carving, complaining that the government wanted more inkstones and paid less. Some young artists also cursed the government for having no conscience, regardless of the life and death of inkstone workers. Bao Gong took their words to heart. Back to the yamen, Bao Gong immediately sent Bao Xing to find Zhang Kaowen, the scribe who was in charge of the tribute inkstone. Zhang Cowen worked as a bookkeeper for 10 years, and devoted himself to honoring his boss and winning the favor of his master. As soon as he heard Bao Gong ask about Duan Yan, he was very happy. He thought Bao Gong was the same as his predecessor, so he flattered him with a high-quality inkstone and said, "I have prepared the tribute inkstone I want this year, and I know exactly what kind of communication adults need. Please accept this inkstone, and I will send the rest one after another. " Hearing this, Bao Gong understood everything in his heart. Originally, it was stipulated that Duanzhou only sent 10 pieces of tribute inkstone every year (according to Song Yuanfeng's Nine Domains and Cun Wang's Ten-year-old tribute inkstone in Duanzhou), but local officials increased the number of tribute inkstones layer by layer. This heavy exploitation made the inkstone workers suffer and filled their pockets. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and his face was livid. Zhang Cowen's Guangdong Province fell to the ground with a bang, and Zhang Cowen suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. He didn't know that Bao Qingtian was really selfless, so he knelt down and kowtowed for mercy. Bao Gong asked Zhang Cowen to explain the handling of tribute inkstone in recent years. Zhang Cowen did not dare to hide it, but confessed the fact that corrupt officials and evil gentry paid tribute to Duanyan, which increased the burden of inkstone workers. In response to this problem, Bao Gong issued a special notice warning officials and gentry not to increase the number of tribute inkstones at will and not to give money to inkstone workers. This notice reflects the wishes of the masses, and enlightened gentlemen also support it. After this incident, the reputation of "Bao Qingtian" spread like wildfire. It is said that when Bao Gong left office, all the men, women and children in Duancheng came to the dock to see him off. Some celebrities and gentry gave gifts in succession, which were declined by Bao Gong. The official ship untied the cable and descended along the Xijiang River in a sigh of praise, and soon reached the Antelope Gorge. It's sunny and sunny. However, when the boat passed the Antelope Gorge, the wind and cloud suddenly changed, the dark clouds rolled and the turbid waves vacated. Bao Gong felt that something was wrong and wondered if his men were being bribed behind their backs and hidden in the boat. He immediately ordered his family Bao Xing to call his entourage for questioning. Buddhist nun, his attendant, suddenly knelt down and said, "My Lord, I forgot to tell you something. Before we left Duanzhou, Mr. Xu Letian specially sent an inkstone to adults. Because it was considered a trivial matter, it was not reported. I took it to the adults privately and put it on the boat now. " Hearing this, Bao Gong immediately ordered buddhist nun to remove the inkstone as soon as possible. This Guangdong inkstone is covered with yellow cloth. The inkstone body is carved with dragons and phoenixes, and its eyes are crystal clear. This is really a good inkstone. But as soon as Bao Gong got it, he didn't even look at it, so he threw Duanyan into the river. Strange to say, when the inkstone fell into the river, it was calm and the clouds opened the sunrise. Shortly after the ship set sail, a sandbar appeared where Duan Yan sank. The yellow cloth wrapped around the inkstone fell into the water and went down the river. It was yellow, and later it became a beach. It is said that "Yanzhou" in Guangli Town and "Huangbusha" in Shapu Town are now formed in this way. Yanzhou and Huangbusha are not far from Antelope Gorge, and they are on the only water highway from Guangzhou to Zhaoqing. Bao Gong's theory of "returning without holding the inkstone" was indeed recorded in the Biography of Bao Zheng in the Song Dynasty. Bao Gong's incorruptibility, Geng Jie, integrity and selflessness are praised by the masses, and even Guangdong inkstone has increased its social status. Duanyan was famous in the Tang Dynasty, when Zhenguan was in the Tang Dynasty. One year, a scholar from Guangdong went to Beijing to take the exam. At that time, it was snowing heavily in the capital Xi. On the day of the exam, Tim walked into the examination room with Duan inkstone in his hand, his hands and feet numb with cold. Candidates are nervously grinding ink in the examination room, but just after grinding, the ink freezes into ice when writing with ink, leaving them at a loss, so they have to gasp at the inkstone and stop writing. The invigilator shook his head after seeing it, and he was helpless. At this time, a Guangdong invigilator stood in front of the lifter as if he had discovered a miracle, only to see that he was writing a rotten book, and the ink in the inkstone was not frozen, but also sparkling. The more the invigilator looked at it, the more surprised he became. As soon as the exam was over, he immediately took the inkstone from the examinee, looked left and right, dipped himself in ink and wrote in bright ink. The invigilator couldn't put it down. Later, I learned from Juzi that this was an inkstone made in Duanzhou, so I regarded this inkstone as a rare treasure and immediately played it as the emperor. After the emperor tasted it, he found it was really good. He was immediately very happy and listed Duanyan as a tribute. Since then, Duanyan has become famous all over the world. In that era when there were no pens and pencils, and books were written after grinding ink, Four Treasures of the Study was as essential to some people as cloth, millet and water. The origin of pockmarked pit During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a stonemason named Chen Pockmarked in Duanzhou. He is not only good at quarrying, but also likes hunting. On one occasion, Pockmarked Chen was quarrying in Deyang and suddenly found a hare in the grass. Chen saw it and was very happy, so he ran after it. The hare ran into a pile of weeds and bushes. Pockmarked Chen pushed open the bushes and found a puddle inside. Where did the rabbit go? Pockmarked Chen jumped into the hole and was flooded into his chest. He felt very strange and thought, can rabbits dive? In order to find out the situation in the cave, he called his partner and Qi Xin worked together for more than 20 days to drain the water in the cave. He found that the stones in the cave are very similar to Xuandeyan's inkstone. Not only are the stones tender, but there are as many as five stone eyes in a small stone shop. They immediately carved this stone into an inkstone and named it "Five-Star Inkstone". This inkstone is second only to Shuiyan and Kengzi inkstone in stone quality, but higher than other rocks. Because it was discovered by pockmarked Chen, this stone is called "pockmarked pit". Since then, Mazikeng is famous for its excellent stone quality and numerous stone holes. Mi Fei's inkstone and Mi Fei's love for inkstone have reached the point of madness. When he was studying for a doctorate in law, one day, Song Shenzong and Cai Jing were talking about calligraphy in Genyue. Song Shenzong asked Mi Fei to let him "write a big screen" and designated the inkstone on the imperial case. Mi Fei took over Four Treasures of the Study, and with a stroke of a pen, every word was like a pearl, which won the house applause. Mi Fei took the opportunity to hold the inkstone, knelt down and asked Song Shenzong, "Your Majesty, you gave me this inkstone, and now you can't bear to give it back to the emperor ..." Song Shenzong laughed after hearing this, and then gave this precious inkstone as a reward. Mi Fei was dancing with joy holding the Guangdong inkstone, and so was "ink on the robe sleeve". Seeing this, Song Shenzong said to Cai Jing, "It's worthy of the name." Mi Fei's "Handstand" shows his great love for Guangdong Province. Baishi Village, located in Huanggang Town, Duanzhou District, is the birthplace of Duanyan. In ancient times, Baishizhai consisted of Yingri Square, Wenxing Square, Dade Square and Huifu Square in Huanggang Village. Among them, Huifufang's "Duanyan Line" has a long history. The villagers here have carved stone and inkstone for a living for generations and are called Duanyan Village. There are more than 280 villagers, about 1000, and more than 90% of the villagers are engaged in the work related to Duanyan. Regarding the origin of Duanyan and Yanyan Village, there is a legend in Zhaoqing: there was a hospitable fisherman in Baishi Village in ancient times. One day, an old stonemason came to his house. In order to entertain the guests, the fisherman picked up his fishing net and went fishing in Xijiang River. Just as he was casting his net by the river, he suddenly saw clouds floating in the sky, and then he saw a pair of purple phoenixes flowing downstream, and disappeared in the blink of an eye. The fisherman tightened his fishing net in surprise and found a purple stone inside. The purple stone was exquisite, moist and crystal clear, so the fisherman took it home and gave it to the old mason, and told the story of the stone. The old stonemason carved purple stone into square inkstone and carved two phoenixes. It is said that this inkstone is the ancestor of Duanyan. Strangely, when it's rainy and gloomy, a layer of mist condenses in the inkstone hall, and ink can be ground without water injection. What's even more strange is that if you use this inkstone to grind ink, it will not condense in cold winter and will not dry up in hot summer for ten and a half months. Therefore, this inkstone is famous and regarded as a treasure. Later, the villagers of Baishi Village came to hammer hill in Antelope Gorge to dig "purple stone" and carve inkstone. Since then, this technology has become their parents' food and clothing for generations, which has produced many famous artists of Guangdong province. Luo Xingpei, Luo, Zhu and other famous inkstone craftsmen are all from Baishizhai.
