David Shen's Social Review

It is reported that Mr. David Shen's calligraphy works are being exhibited in Wenda Gallery, and this exhibition is the first in a series of Yunnan fine calligraphy and painting exhibitions. When the author took time to get to the gallery, he realized that the exhibition would be closed in two days, and half of the works in the exhibition hall had been sold. Fortunately, I didn't arrive too late, and the buyer hasn't taken the work away.

In fact, I don't know calligraphy, let alone research. Although I don't understand it, I admire the person who writes this word well. After all, it takes many years of practice to write the words well and write them to the point where they can be sold. Mr David Shen has studied calligraphy for forty years, which requires great perseverance.

26 calligraphy works by Mr. David Shen are on display in Wenda Gallery. The themes of these books include Preface to the Lanting Pavilion by Wang Xizhi, Farewell to Friends by Li Taibai and Linjiang Fairy by Yang Shen. The main fonts are running script and cursive script. There are many calligraphers in Yunnan. Why did you choose Mr. David Shen's works for the exhibition? According to the gallery management, it is based on Mr. Shen's calligraphy accomplishment and achievements that he became the representative of middle-aged calligraphers in Yunnan, which has great collection value and appreciation space.

Appreciating Mr. David Shen's works, it's easy to ease the weight and blend in with the Tao. The works are full of quaint spirit, which makes people calm. As Zhang Guanghua said in the preface: "To express all kinds of wasted inspirational proverbs with a calm heart, to face up to the joys and sorrows of life, and to recreate the spirit of the times with heroes, Tibetans often obliterate them, but they can also be quiet and far-reaching."
