Appreciation of whole poem

This poem was written by the author when he was the magistrate of Hangzhou. It is about the scenery in late autumn and early winter, expressing feelings with scenery, comparing people with things, and inspiring friends to warn themselves.

"The lotus has no shelter from the rain, and the chrysanthemum still has Ao Shuang branches." The author first described the scene last autumn. That summer, the blue-leaved pool lotus withered, the green leaves broke, and the umbrella cover could no longer be lifted. Autumn chrysanthemum is independent and cold, and its flowers and leaves are withered. Only the tall and straight branches are still strong, and the majestic Ao Shuang still exists. "The good scenes of the year must be remembered, especially when it is orange, yellow and green." Seasonal changes and metabolism are natural laws that no one can change. After all, the lost chrysanthemum is out of date and will quit the competition. Please remember that early winter has arrived, which is the best season of the year. It has good scenery of orange, orange and green, especially citrus whose leaves are green all winter, but because of its nature, it is used to cold, although it may serve your distinguished guests. Its firmness, integrity and noble quality are incomparable to flowers in spring, lotus flowers in summer and even chrysanthemums in autumn. Lotus withered, lotus leaf withered, broken, chrysanthemum is still strong, friends, you are not broken lotus chrysanthemum, it is a good time for orange, yellow and green!

This poem fully shows the author's sincere feelings and open mind towards his friends. At that time, he was 54 years old and suffered many blows and hardships, but he also wrote poems to inspire his friend Liu Jingwen (he was nearly 60 years old at that time). He vividly compared himself to being over 50, like a dead chrysanthemum in late autumn, still struggling and struggling with the wind. Ao Shuang, although you are several years older than me, isn't this the best time of your life? Orange and green in early winter, what a beautiful scenery! As he said in another poem: "Don't think a thousand miles for an old horse, and lament when you are drunk. (Quoted from "Liu Jingwen's Two Rhymes See and Send") Encourage your friends not to be depressed.
