Huang Miaozi, born in Zhongshan, Guangdong, was born in 19 13. Famous cartoonist, art historian, art critic, calligrapher and writer. From the mid-1930s to the mid-40s, he participated in anti-Japanese cultural activities in Shanghai and Chongqing. After liberation, he served as editor of People's Fine Arts Publishing House. After 1980s, he served as director of China Artists Association, executive director of China Calligraphers Association, member of All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and member of the 5th, 6th and 7th CPPCC National Committee. His calligraphy works have been exhibited in Japan, Britain, Germany, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan Province Province, Hongkong and Mainland China, and have been collected by the British Museum.
