The vertical strokes of the word "Zhou" in Yan style are the same as those of the word "Ten" in Liu Ti, but the strokes are different. The strokes of Liu's style "Ten" are vertical strokes with hanging needles, and the strokes of Yan's style "Zhou" are "dewdrops" (shaped like falling dewdrops), so they are called vertical strokes (see Figure 1). The first few steps of writing are the same as hanging the needle, but the method of collecting the pen is different (see Figure 2): ① Pick up the pen and turn it around; ② Go back to the front to collect the pen. Whether the pen is square or round, the method of collecting the pen is the same. It must be specially reminded that there is something wrong with the direction of the pen when turning. Many books only point out that "pick up the pen from right to left, and then collect the pen". In fact, there should be another method to collect the pen, that is, "pick up the pen from left to right and collect the pen from the strokes" (see Figure 2). Don't underestimate the direction of vertical painting, which may involve the situation of vertical painting and the consistency of brushwork. For example, the two vertical paintings of Liu Ti's "Hundred" (see Figure 2) have a different direction of pen collection. The left vertical pen set is from left to right and the right vertical pen set is from right to left. Why do you have to collect pens like this? Can't it be the other way around? No, because according to the "100" stroke order, you have to collect the pen and write the horizontal and vertical picture on the right, so you must collect the pen from left to right. If you only know that vertical painting always goes from right to left, then the situation is bound to be embarrassing. Because there is no echo problem on the left side of the first vertical painting, it is unreasonable to write it. The vertical painting on the right is different. After the vertical tail, write two short horizontal lines in the middle. It is reasonable to collect pens from right to left. So we can draw a rule: the direction of vertical painting must be related to the beginning of the next stroke. If the starting point of the next stroke of vertical painting is on the left side of vertical painting, then the stroke of vertical painting should be from right to left; If the starting point of the next stroke of vertical painting is on the right side of vertical painting, then the pen of vertical painting should be collected from left to right. Only in this way can the strokes echo each other. . Hmm. How interesting
