I think interest classes are still helpful to children. Let me give two examples:
The first one is our calligraphy class. In the third and fourth grades, I enrolled my child in a weekly calligraphy class, and I didn't intend to say that I must write something famous (because his learning focus is on all kinds of learning), but later we took part in a competition and won a bronze prize, and this year we won a silver prize. This is very encouraging for children. Although they don't like it very much, it is obviously more efficient when practicing calligraphy, which is also helpful for their hard pen writing.
The other is programming. I taught my child scratch in the third grade (introducing that I am learning now and selling now to learn from him), and then I started to let him learn C++ in the fourth grade. To tell the truth, my purpose is to participate in the Informatics Olympics in the future. I think it's simple-start early and learn slowly! As a result, I originally wanted to go to Informatics Olympics to experience soy sauce this year, but I didn't expect to enter the semi-finals. What makes the child more confident and interested is that he is the only primary school student in this area who has entered the semi-finals.
Because his programming study will use a lot of mathematics knowledge, and he is very interested in mathematics, he has been learning Olympiad since the first grade. Originally, this semester's olympiad class was very difficult, and the children ate a little, but I didn't expect the children to find the "benefits of olympiad" in the programming class, so in turn they were more interested in olympiad learning, which must be solid in mathematics, so his in-class study was also very serious and highly valued. He has been studying for more than a month this semester and has used up all the teaching AIDS issued by the school this semester. ...
You have the spare capacity to study, do what you like, and have a skill, such as practicing calligraphy, playing the piano, learning martial arts and dancing, which is also very helpful for learning. You can't just study and exercise, music is only good for learning!
