Some points to pay attention to when practicing Chinese characters at first: (You should learn common sense such as the structure of Chinese characters after practicing for a period of time)
The posture of 1 should be correct, with feet flat on the ground, hands according to the plan, shoulders flat, back straight, head straight, eyes looking at the paper.
Hold the pen with your hands, hold the pen with your fingers, and lift the pen with your wrists. I began to practice calligraphy and pillow my wrist, and gradually raised my wrist and lowered my wrist.
Three strokes should be distinguished, generally divided into Fang Bi and round pen, and the application parts of the center, flank and lying in front should also be clear.
Regular script is the basis of learning China's calligraphy. Learn regular script first, then running script, and finally cursive script. You can learn from Weibei first.
Don't be clear at a glance when posting, read the post first, understand the main points thoroughly, and then write a word at one go.
First of all, we should practice all kinds of radicals well, and then it is easy to form all kinds of words later.
As long as you are willing to learn and practice China's calligraphy hard, you will certainly learn it. But the method must be correct, otherwise it will be counterproductive. An old gentleman brought a roll of cursive script, and asked Mr. Lin Sanzhi, a contemporary master of cursive script, to point out the maze. After reading it, San Weng just nodded and returned the volume to the old gentleman without saying a word. After the old man left, Lin Lao said, "This man is still outside the door." What he said was very surprising. An old gentleman like this must have practiced calligraphy in a private school since he was a child. He can already write cursive script, and he is still a layman after practicing all his life. If the visitor is a young man, Lin Lao will not hesitate to tell him to brake, not to write cursive script, but to write regular script quickly and save it before it is too late. The old man walked a detour all his life and got a "terminal illness". It was embarrassing to let him practice regular script from the beginning, and it was too late to practice again. Therefore, Lin Lao is neither convenient for criticism nor willing to say compliments against his will.
This incident shows that it is not enough to write calligraphy by hard practice, but also to master the correct method. This is the same as learning martial arts. Once you get used to it, it's hard to change. So there is a saying that it is easy to learn boxing, but difficult to change it.
Einstein had a formula for success: success = correct method+diligence. This formula is also suitable for learning writing.
There is a difference between an expert and a layman in any skill. An expert is an expert, mastering the basic rules and laws. The old gentleman mentioned above hasn't mastered the basic laws of China's calligraphy, and he doesn't know which ones are right, which ones are wrong, which ones are beautiful and which ones are ugly. So Lao Lin said he was an amateur.
Second, the entry method
The ancients said: "The master leads the door and practices in himself." Of course, it's great to have teachers. If you don't have a suitable teacher, you can buy books for self-study and help you master the most basic rules of China calligraphy. You can also learn from the ancients, saying, "Take the method to call it, only get it, take the method to call it, only get it." It means that if you worship a first-class teacher, you can get average grades. Worship a second-level teacher can only get low marks. The excellent posts of ancient people are all excellent posts, so you should worship them as teachers. Ancient calligraphers handed down numerous beautiful monuments, and those who can stand firm and not be eliminated are good teachers with personality and expertise that can get you started. Of course, you can't just practice with a notebook. This is a matter of priority and suits you, just like the medicine in the drugstore can cure diseases, but you can't eat it casually, so you should prescribe the right medicine.
What is suitable for beginners to learn? There have been seal script, official script, regular script, cursive script and cursive script since ancient times. Which font should I learn first? Calligraphers also have their own views on this issue. Those who advocate learning seal script think that learning seal script is ancient, and the foundation should be learned from the source, but many beginners don't even know seal script, so they have to know seal script first, which is difficult. Some people say that learning running script first is easy to get results, okay? Su Shi, a great calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, once said that regular script is like a stand, running script is like a line, cursive script is like a run, and I have never seen anyone who can run even when he is unstable. This metaphor is very apt. He was opposed to learning cursive at first. He thinks that you should learn to stand first, then learn to walk slowly after standing firm, and then learn to run after walking smoothly. Therefore, learning calligraphy should start with regular script. After learning regular script brushwork and stand firm, learn running script and cursive script. Learning to write is like learning to walk. You must walk step by step, and you can't jump, or you will fall.
Section 2 Job Selection
First, the classification and post selection of regular script
There are indeed many calligraphers who are good at writing regular script, which can be roughly divided into four categories according to their style characteristics.
L, Jin people's regular script Jin people's regular script is represented by Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi's regular script works.
2. Ou Yangxun, Yu Shinan, Zhu Suiliang and Xue Ji represented the regular script in the early Tang Dynasty.
3. The regular script in the middle and late Tang Dynasty is represented by the regular script works of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan.
4. Weibei regular script Weibei is the general name of cliff stone carvings and epitaph stone carvings with similar calligraphy styles before and after the Northern Wei Dynasty.
The above four types of excellent regular script posts will be introduced in Chapter 9, and will not be repeated here.
These four regular scripts can be said to be good posts that everyone loves, but which one is more suitable for beginners? Let's make a comparison. Jin Kai is the source of regular script, with complete ancient methods and good learning. However, Kincaid is so small that it is difficult for beginners to master the fine print together. Regular script in the early Tang Dynasty belongs to the right path, and their structures are all perfect. However, the scripts that have been handed down so far belong to Chinese books, and the opening and closing are not clear enough and difficult to learn. Weibei is not bad either. He has a strong body and a lofty charm, but the monument is broken. Beginners often can't tell the difference between breaking and stippling, so it's hard to figure it out. Generally speaking, beginners should start with regular script in the middle and late Tang Dynasty. One is block letters with clear strokes, and the other is that there are few breaks on the tablet, so there will be no deviation.
Second, the matters needing attention should be strictly discussed with Liu.
Starting with Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan's regular script is the experience summarized by calligraphers in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Yan and Liu's regular script strokes have obvious lifting and pressing movements, and their statutes are relatively perfect, which can correct the shortcomings of drawing casually like writing. Is the right way to write regular script. Liu is thin and vigorous, and his brushwork is very particular. Dong Qichang, a calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, had the experience of "never abandoning Liu Fa and going to the right army (Wang Xizhi)". Feng Ban in the Ming Dynasty also said: "Yan Shusheng is a Liu calligrapher, but Liu calligraphy is well prepared, so he is a beginner." . Learning willows can make you strong, but learning books can make you strong. So you can choose one of the masterpieces of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan.
Yan Zhenqing's masterpiece Li Yanqin Monument and Liu Gongquan's masterpiece Xuantami Monument are excellent posts suitable for primary and secondary school students and beginners of China calligraphy.
Before studying Yan Liu, we must have a comprehensive understanding of Yan Liukai's books, because everything is divided into two, with its good side and its shortcomings. Yan and Liu's regular script is vigorous and powerful, mainly because of its rigorous brushwork. However, some strokes have become shortcomings and drawbacks due to excessive emphasis. For example, their turning point and criticism are not only the styles of Yan and Liu, but also the "ugly" place mentioned by the calligrapher Miti in the Song Dynasty. This is also something that must be paid attention to when studying. We should not only get their brushwork, but also further strengthen their "ugly" characteristics. Seeking its shape blindly and developing its blunt engraving, Yan and Liu are written as imitation song-like characters, which beginners must take as a warning. The purpose of posting is to acquire brushwork and form correct good habits. At present, there is a common problem in the teaching of brush calligraphy in primary and secondary schools, that is, it is difficult to learn running script after learning beautiful willow is dead, which runs counter to the purpose of learning beautiful willow.
"Forgetting the fish" is a well-known idiom. This basket is a bamboo cage for fishing. If you want to fish, you must have a fishing tool. But after catching a fish, you can't hold on to the basket. Lian Yan and Liu Ye are like this. Their shapes are "baskets" and their brushwork is "fish". It is necessary to study temporarily. What Liu got was brushwork, not just appearance.
The examples of stroke writing and structure in this lecture are based on the introduction of basic techniques of brushwork, structure and composition by Yan and vitamins, so as to get started.
