Zhang Daqian's Rare Wonderful Couplet Award

Besides being good at landscapes, figures, flowers and feathers, Mr. Zhang Daqian's calligraphy is also highly accomplished. In his early years, he studied under the famous calligraphers Li Ruiqing and Zeng Nong Beard in the late Qing Dynasty, and formed his own fine, square and slightly official calligraphy style. After 1930s, Mr. Zhang Daqian's calligraphy began to change. He transferred to another school, studied under Wei Bei's "Hehe Ming", studied under the calligraphy style of Huang Gu, a famous calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, and learned Shi Tao's vigorous and eclectic calligraphy style.
