At the beginning, the incense in the temple was very prosperous, and it was the east temple of the "East Temple". There is a temple fair every ten days. So the land is prosperous and there are many tourists. Textual research of Old News in the Sunset says that ... there are temple fairs on the 9th and 10th of every month, and department stores are the highest. So far, the snack bar here is quite famous, retaining some traditional varieties and being welcomed by old Beijingers. At temple fairs, stalls in front of foreign Cigarette Cards are often crowded with people. In the past, people collected foreign paintings, which was similar to collecting stamps, thus creating a "free market" for foreign Cigarette Cards. The back door of Long Fu Temple leads to Liang Qian Hutong, and there are beggars on both sides, waiting for the people who come to the temple to give alms.

Later, the government concentrated all kinds of vendors in the greenhouse in front of the temple, fixed their stalls and operated independently. It was called "Dongsi People's Market" and later changed to a state-owned department store. In 1980s, the commercial shed with only one floor in front was demolished and replaced by an eight-story commercial building with advanced equipment, which was renamed Long Fu Building. The original Long Fu Temple has disappeared.

Changdian

Changdian is one of the most important temple fairs in the old Beijing era. It is a great pleasure for Beijingers to visit long-distance telephones during the Spring Festival. Changdian is located in Liulichang area outside Heping Gate in Beijing. There is a temple fair every year from the first day to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, which is the most crowded and lively place during the Spring Festival in old Beijing. At that time, few people did not visit the factory.

For the safety of the Forbidden City and the royal family, the part of the lantern market in Donghuamen and dengshikou moved to Liulichang. At this time, Lantern Festival lights are hung in the shed, which is very lively. Outside Xuanwu Gate, the provincial halls are concentrated. Candidates from all provinces often live here, and prefer to visit Liulichang in their spare time, which has played a certain role in promoting the development of Liulichang bookstore, cultural relics and Nanzhi store.

In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, some nouveau riche in the society were arty and bought many books for display at home. People who don't know about cultural relics also buy celebrity calligraphy and paintings and famous porcelain bronzes, which also promotes the prosperity of the ancient cultural relics industry in Liulichang.

The temple fair in Changdian was gradually formed by watching lanterns, and its scale was considerable from the Qianlong period. Temple fairs are almost all-encompassing, and all kinds of goods are available. People who visit temple fairs include workers, peasants, soldiers, Confucian businessmen and people from all walks of life. Men, women and children can gain something by going to the factory.

Every year, from the first day to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, a large-scale temple fair is held centered between Liulichang and Haiwangcun Park. During the temple fair, vendors near Liulichang East-West Street, North-South Xinhua Street, large and small sand gardens and Lvzu Temple were connected together, ranging from beaded mountain red to five-foot-high candied haws. From the love nest with red dots to the crispy fire; There are even rice cakes, tofu, Yuanxiao, fried cakes, red bean porridge, bean juice, fried enema, noodles tea, bee cakes, fried spring rolls, fried pork floss and so on.

There are more things to play with, such as the diabolo in Yang Mingyuan, which is plastered with gold characters and shaken with great enthusiasm; Colored wind wheels drive small hammers and beat various windmills with small drums; There are balloons, glass speakers, poop stools ... plus colorful sand swallows, colorful silk-tailed day pearl fish, living eyes, living joints, centipedes two or three feet long, and pocket kites that can be placed in matchboxes, all of which are beautifully made and dizzying. The celebrity calligraphy and painting in the big mat shed and the old books in the street stalls complement each other and attract many tourists. The square in front of the water pool in Haiwangcun Park is an open-air teahouse, with two big copper pots filled with boiling water, teapots and tea bowls filled with exquisite porcelain, and several guys with white towels on their shoulders shouting, full of Beijing dialect and Beijing rhyme.

The temple fair was interrupted after 1963, and resumed at the original site at 200 1 and 1.

Baiyunguan

Baiyun Temple outside Xibianmen is one of the temple fairs with the longest opening time, the most incense and the most distinctive features during the Spring Festival. Baiyun Temple is located outside Xibianmen in Beijing, east of Baiyun Road outside Fuxingmen. There is a temple fair every year from the first day to the nineteenth day of the first lunar month. Mainly religious activities.

Baiyun Temple is the largest Taoist temple in Beijing, known as "the first jungle of truth". The main activities of Baiyun Temple in the first month are "Meeting Immortals", "idolize", "Playing with Money" and "Touching Stone Monkeys". Legend has it that on the 19th day of the first month, Qiu Chuji will come to the person who is destined to turn over. During the temple fair, the most popular products were incense paper and tin foil statues, followed by various foods and children's toys, and few daily necessities. There will also be a folk flower show during the session, where lions, stilts and dry boats will perform incense, and gongs and drums will continue to be very lively.

At about eight o'clock in the morning, there are already thousands of people here. There are vendors selling snacks at the gate, and the snacks they sell are similar to other temple fairs. But after all, it's too early, and business is still relatively slow. The most lively scene is the "touching the stone monkey" when entering the mountain gate. The gate is arched (* * * three doors, big in the middle and small in the wings), and the inner ring of the gate is decorated with arc stone carvings.

There is a stone monkey relief at the lower left of the stone carving. It is said that people can clear their hearts and improve their eyesight by touching it, and they can recover even if they are sick. Of course, this is pure nonsense, but tourists will want to touch it and comfort it. Over time, "Touching the Stone Monkey" has become a traditional program for Xinzheng to visit Baiyun Temple. After people's long-term touching, the curved cave-like stone carving on the mountain gate is still dark gray, and other places are blue sandstone, but this little monkey has been touched brilliantly and is particularly cute.

Entering the gate, there are three stone bridges in the first yard, and there is no water under them. There is only one bridge opening in the middle of the three bridges, and the cave is east-west, with a square table on each side. There are two monks sitting cross-legged on the table. From opening the mountain gate early, they can only go back to the hall to rest peacefully until the tourists disperse in the evening. They are the main programs of Baiyun Temple and a pair of "live props" which are one of the main financial resources of the Spring Festival Temple Fair.

The money is tied with red velvet rope from the north and south ends, and a small copper bell is tied in the middle hole. On the east and west sides of the bridge, there are many money-making stalls (mostly run by Taoist priests) that exchange cash for ten dollars. Tourists aim at the small copper bells on the money holes five meters apart on both sides of the bridge deck. Whoever can ring these two clocks correctly will have a good year and everything will be smooth. This is the famous "eyes for money". Because the distance is long and the bronze bell is small, the collision is purely accidental. However, people always try their luck, even if they spend a lot of money to make money.

After going around the bridge, you enter a courtyard, which is "Shunxing Hall". This is the place where the temple fair asks for a sign. On the eighth day of the first month of each year, pilgrims from Yun Guan burn stars in front of the statue of Star, the core monument of their lives, to pray for peace for a year, and buy a divination map to find out what is beneficial and avoid what is bad.

Another pleasant activity to visit Baiyun Temple is riding donkeys. Every temple fair, some people always happily ride the red donkey and enjoy the fun of riding the donkey to visit the temple fair.

In addition to the above-mentioned famous temple fairs, there are Pantaogong Temple Fair in old Beijing. Temple fairs in suburban counties of Beijing are also very distinctive, such as "Xianghui" in Miao Feng, "Tan Kai" in Bailongtan, prayer flags in Jietai Temple, "Devil" in Tiantai Mountain, and "Seventy-two Divisions" in Xiding Niangniang Temple.
