In terms of calligraphy, his works have participated in many national and provincial exhibitions and won prizes, and were included in the Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy of China in the World by 1997. 1999 participated in the first national fan calligraphy exhibition, and won the second and third prizes in 1992 and 1995 national archive calligraphy competitions respectively. In 2003, his works were included in the People's Political Consultative Conference newspaper, all of them were collected by museums and archives management at or above the provincial level, and some of them were seen in the People's Liberation Army newspaper and Volkswagen Daily. Written by himself, Calligraphy Melody was published in the seventh issue of Education for the Aged in 2003. Zhang Qingnian's calligraphy collection was published in 2000. In July 2006, his works won the "Liang Piyun Cup" National Exhibition Excellence Award, and in 2006 10, he entered the second China Calligraphy Exhibition of Lanting Award.
