Xing Fei has been passionate about the art of calligraphy since he was a child. He is now a famous military calligrapher. He joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in 1972 and participated in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. He was commended by the Guangzhou Military Region Air Force Frontline Command and was awarded the Third Prize. With equal merit, he co-authored with General Ross the monograph "Electronic Countermeasures Experience and Picture Collection during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam", which was designated by the General Staff to be distributed to the entire army, navy and air force; on October 5, 1987, our army shot down a Vietnamese invading aircraft. To this end, the book "Compilation of 10.5 Combat Radar Support Experience Charts for Shooting Down Invading Overland Planes" was compiled and distributed to the Air Force designated by the Air Force of the Central Military Commission. In 1994, he was transferred from the regiment to the military and was promoted to the rank of reserve colonel. He graduated from the regiment (battalion) military cadre command class of the Air Force Radar Academy and the economic management major of the leading cadre class of the Central Party School.
