Weng Tonghe presented it to United Phoenix Miu.

Why did Yu Hanbao read it?

Who wrote the heavenly seal?

Inheriting the medical classics of Central Jiangsu for the benefit of people and things;

Bingxugong's family precepts are Mu nationality and Dunzong.

These two couplets were written by Weng Tonghe (1830 ~ 1904), the champion of Xianfeng, Tongzhi and Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. These books were given to Liu Miao Village, a famous doctor in the same town, and his son Miao Shaocun.

Miao lived in Liumo West Bridge (now yangqiao Village, fenghuang town, Zhangjiagang City) in Fenghuang Township, Changshu. Fenghuang Miao family is a famous local family and a family of medicine. From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and even today, there are many famous families. Miao Xiyong, the first generation famous doctor of Miao nationality, was included in Biography of Ji Fang in Ming Dynasty, which was comparable to Li Shizhen. His works "Shen Nong's Herbal Classic Shu" and "Xian Xing Zhai Guang Zhu" were selected by Ji Yun's "Siku Quanshu" in Qing Dynasty, which had an important influence in the medical history of China. Cun (182 1 ~ 1885), whose real name is Qi, whose name is Fengshan, whose alias is Liu Cun, was a famous doctor during the reign of Qing Daoguang and Xianfeng. He inherited the family and saved the world. He has written medical books such as "Baicao Raft" and "Hundred Cases of Pulse Cases", and once cured Chen Yucheng, the leader of Taiping Army. Miao Shaocun (1851~1931), a famous pickaxe, is the son of Liu Cun. He entered Yi during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. He was a teacher in Yanghu County (now Changzhou), good at poetry and painting, and resigned after the Reform Movement of 1898. Weng Tonghe became attached to the Miao family because the village has long hired famous doctors from all over the world to treat cold and heat diseases with three kinds of medicines. In the 24th year of Guangxu (1898), Weng Tonghe was dismissed and returned to his hometown. During his semi-seclusion in Lushan, he also had many contacts with Miao Shaocun, the son of his old friend.

In the autumn of the ninth year of Tongzhi (1870), Weng Tonghe, then 40 years old, returned to Changshu and suddenly suffered from cold and fever. The fever has been going on for more than a month. It is useless to ask famous doctors all over the country for treatment. Later, he was referred to Liucun for treatment. Unexpectedly, I only took three doses of medicine to clear away heat and resuscitation, and my cold and fever will go away, and I will be fine in a month. Weng was very happy, so he wrote a pair of couplets to save the title, that is, the "Jade Letter" couplet mentioned above. Jade letter, the original meaning of the cover of jade book. Bao Fang is a rare and effective prescription. "Yu Han Bao Fang" is often used together. Su Shi's poem "Er Yun Zi Qing Old Dragon Pearl Dan" said: "Heaven can't guard against crazy dragons, and Yu Xin Bao can stay in the Dragon Palace." Yun Zhuan is synonymous with gobbledygook, and it is a unique script of Taoism in China. It is created on the basis of Chinese characters in seal script, which is difficult to identify and full of mystery. People know very little about it, so it is also called "gobbledygook". The "Jade Letter" couplet means to praise Liu Cun's superb medical skills: those "jade letter treasures" that are regarded as inscrutable by the literati are useless to read. Who made the illusory seal of the gobbledygook? I have been treated by many famous doctors for more than a month, but it has no effect. Not as good as a village herbalist with only three doses of herbs.

The second couplet was written by Weng Tonghe. In the 28th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1902), Miao Shao specially asked Weng to write this couplet when he was building the family ancestral temple in Yangjiaqiao Village, Fenghuang Township. At this time, Weng is already an old man in his seventies. The son of an old friend came to ask for a book. How could he refuse? Because this is the Miao ancestral hall couplet, the theme of the couplet naturally revolves around the Miao family's excellent family style of benefiting the people and the world. I hope that the Miao descendants can better inherit their ancestral business, live in harmony and continue to benefit the mulberry. The "Su Zhong" in the first couplet is Miao Xiyong, the ancestor of Miao family and a famous doctor in Ming Dynasty. Miao Xiyong, whose word is wine, mistakenly wrote the word "wine" as "vegetarian" because Weng Tonghe was old at that time. Later, Weng's favorite pupil, Wang Xun, a scholar in Guangxu eight years, and Wang Ruoyuan of Yanghu once recorded: "He was a noble person in Yuan Dynasty and was good at calligraphy. Zhong Chun was a famous doctor in Ming Dynasty and wrote the Classic of Materia Medica. Song Chan (Weng's nickname) was quoted twice by Liu Cun, and the word' Su' combined with' alcohol' was almost a clerical error. " A small slip of the pen attracted the careful textual research of later generations, but it also added a lot of interest to this history.

It is worth remembering that Weng Tonghe's hopes and blessings for Miao descendants in the second couplet have been realized. Since Liucun, Miao medicine talents have come forth in large numbers. Miao Yong, Miao, Miao Tingjia, Miao and Miao Nanxing inherited their ancestral businesses and were familiar with medical skills. Of course, the most famous is Miao Tingjie, a professor at Shanghai Medical University and an expert in urology.

Miao Tingjie, born in the Republic of China 13 (1924), was a major member of the expert group and successfully performed the first kidney transplant in China. He has written many books, including university reference books such as kidney transplantation 10 Yu Ben, and has published more than 100 articles in medical journals at home and abroad, enjoying a good reputation at home and abroad. Miao Tingjie's entries were included in the Dictionary of World Celebrities published by Cambridge University in England, and Cambridge University also awarded him the Silver Award for "Celebrity Achievement in the 20th Century". He is also an accomplished calligrapher, who has been friends with famous calligraphers in Shanghai, such as Xie, Lu and so on. Chen Shifa and Liu Danzhai, two masters, once co-painted the portraits of Li Shizhen and Miao Xiyong, entitled "The Map of Doctors and Philosophers" and gave them to Miao Tingjie. At the invitation of Miao Tingjie, 28 famous artists, including Wu Jieping, Qian Zhonglian, Xie, Qian, painted poems for the theme, and the poems and paintings were spectacular.

Similar to Weng Tonghe's couplets, Yu Quyuan, a master of park studies in the late Qing Dynasty, felt that Miao doctors were kind and virtuous, benefiting others and saving the world. Zeng Zeng wrote a couplet: "Farming and reading handed down the family, fesr saved the world; Lanling people hope that Liumo Township is a saint. " Miao Xiyong, Liu Miao Village, Miao Tingjie ... The Miao family really deserves the praise of Weng Tonghe and Yu Quyuan.
