1. Nature and Purpose
Putuoshan Buddhist College is located in Fuquan Zen Forest in Putuo Mountain, Zhejiang Province , founded in 1988, is an adult higher education institution approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission and the Zhejiang Provincial Education Commission, sponsored by the Putuo Mountain Buddhist Association of Zhejiang Province, and jointly managed by the Zhoushan Civil and Religious Affairs Bureau and the Education Department. An educational Buddhist college. The college aims to cultivate young monks who support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, love the socialist society, love the country and religion, abide by disciplines and laws, and have a certain level of Buddhist knowledge and culture.
2. Quota and academic system
Recruiting 40 male and 40 female undergraduate and preparatory students. The undergraduate program lasts four years and the preparatory program lasts two years.

The Tiantai Sect: "The History of Tiantai Teaching", "The Four Teachings of Tiantai", " "Miaoho Lotus Sutra", etc.
Pure Land Sect: "History of Pure Land Teaching", "Infinite Life Sutra", "Essential Interpretation of Amitabha", "Treatise on Rebirth", etc.
Vinaya Sect: "Four "Bhikkhu Precepts", "Brahma Net Sutra Bodhisattva Precepts", etc.
Zen: "Diamond Sutra", "Sixth Patriarch Altar Sutra", etc.

IV. Application conditions
1. Be patriotic and love religion, abide by disciplines and laws, have a clean history and have good conduct.
2. Be a monk for more than one year, strictly observe the rules and regulations, and be familiar with the five lessons in the morning and evening.
3. Good health, good facial features, no residual (hidden) diseases, and no bad habits.
4. Aged between 18 and 30 years old and not in a relationship.
5. To apply for the undergraduate program, you must have graduated from the preparatory course of the Buddhist College, or have a high school degree or above; to apply for the preparatory program, you must have a junior high school degree or above.
5. Registration method and relevant regulations
1. Anyone who meets the application requirements of our college should write to request a registration form.
2. Applicants must fill in the registration form truthfully based on the above application conditions, and be reviewed and approved by open monasteries, local Buddhist associations and religious authorities. When filling out the form, please indicate whether you are applying for undergraduate, matriculation, or both.
3. Applicants must mail their academic certificate (copy) and experience form, four one-inch bare-headed monk photos, and a letter of recommendation along with the registration form to our hospital, or submit it directly to our hospital in person ; After being reviewed by the Admissions Office of our college and meeting the registration conditions, an admission ticket will be issued. If you fail the review, your registration qualification will be cancelled, and the materials will not be returned.
4. The application period is from now until June 20.
5. Students who meet the application requirements can come to our college on June 10 to participate in review preparations before the exam.
6. Examination and admission methods
1. Examination location: Putuo Mountain Buddhist Academy (in Fuquan Zen Forest)
2. Examination time: early July ( See the admission ticket for details)
3. Exam subjects: Buddhism, Chinese, English, history, politics, class recitation
4. Based on the candidates’ test scores, religious sentiments, and moral qualities, Comprehensive factors such as physical health status (including Austrian anti-positive hepatitis B) will be evaluated, and the best candidates will be admitted.
5. Food and accommodation during the examination period will be provided by the hospital, and the round-trip expenses (car, boat, food and accommodation, etc.) will be borne by the candidates themselves.
7. Living allowance during the study period
1. The college will provide appropriate living expenses to the student monks in accordance with regulations.
2. Medical expenses will be subsidized to a certain extent in accordance with relevant regulations of the college.
8. Graduation destination
1. In principle, students will still return to their original recommending units.
2. For students with excellent academic performance, they will be recommended to serve in Benshan Temple with the consent of the original recommending unit.
