Brief introduction of forest of steles
Forest of Steles, the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units (Stone CarvingNo. 1), a national first-class museum, a national AAAA-level tourist scenic spot, and one of the national 18 special tourist landscapes, is a treasure house of Chinese culture and art with the earliest collection of ancient inscriptions and the largest collection of famous inscriptions in China. It is located at No.3 Xuejie 15, beilin district, Xi City, Shaanxi Province. The origin of 1 forest of steles can be traced back to Shitai Xiaojing and Kaicheng Shijing established in imperial academy, the capital of Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty. The official founder is Lu Dazhong (Lantian, Shaanxi), who was founded in the second year of Yuan You in the Northern Song Dynasty (1087), and its scale gradually expanded. At present, there are more than 1,000 pieces of cultural relics 1 1000, including 34 pieces of national treasure 19 species (groups) 134 pieces and 535 pieces of first-class cultural relics. Four of the famous "Six Horses in Zhaoling" are hidden in the forest of steles. Xi 'an Stele Forest is not only one of the concentrated places of ancient Chinese cultural classics and stone carvings, but also the gathering place of famous calligraphy art treasures in past dynasties, which has great historical and artistic value. 196 1 on March 4th, the forest of steles was listed as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
