Cultural Connotation of Haishan Fairy Hall
Haishan Fairy Hall is loved by people, not only because of its beautiful gardens and red plum clouds, but more importantly, it has accumulated rich classical cultural connotations. Pan Shicheng, the owner of the garden, is not only a 13-line wealthy businessman, but also a cultural celebrity with a rich collection and a high reputation abroad. He spared no expense to engrave 56 kinds of Haishan Fairy Hall series, with a total of 492 volumes, which are divided into four parts: classics, history, books and collections, 120 volumes. He also carefully collected Fa Tie, a famous calligrapher, and classified their precious handwriting into antique, genuine and fragrant. Then he chiseled more than 1000 stone carvings, most of which were embedded in the cave wall of the cloister in the garden. He also printed the rubbings of these famous stone carvings into Haishan Fairy Hall. It is precisely because the owner of the garden is so diligent, artistic, persistent and boundless, Pan Shicheng's reputation has spread far and wide, and his prestige has greatly increased. Haishan Fairy Hall has naturally and deservedly become a paradise where dignitaries, celebrities, foreign businessmen and rich people often meet. Even meetings between foreign envoys and government officials are often held here for peace talks. There is no doubt that the American writer Hunter, the French photographer Yule eger and the famous British photographer and writer john thompson mentioned above are all frequent visitors and close friends of Haishan Fairy Museum. They are infatuated with this "typical China garden", and at the same time they are duty-bound to turn this "bizarre and interesting" beautiful paradise into their illustrated artistic treasures and spread them overseas.
