Fushan is an ancient volcano that has been sleeping for hundreds of millions of years. Its peaks are abrupt, its stone walls soar into the sky, its caves are hidden in the mountain walls, and the large and small caves produced by volcanic eruption are transparent. Its geological structure is one of the most representative areas of Mesozoic coarse-grained volcanic rocks in China, and it can be called a natural volcanic geological park.
Fushan Mountain is also a famous Buddhist mountain. As early as the Jin and Liang Dynasties (AD 266-577), temples began to be established and have been expanding throughout the ages. In Song Dynasty, Song Renzong named this temple "Dahua Rock Temple". At that time, Fushan entered the peak period of Buddhism, where incense was constantly burning and there were many monks in temples. It was a famous Buddhist mountain at home and abroad and one of the 36 Taoist caves in China.
Fushan Mountain also has extremely rich cultural landscape. Numerous celebrities and literati in the past dynasties, such as Meng Jiao, Bai Juyi, Fan Zhongyan, Wang Anshi, Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi and Huang Tingjian in the Tang and Song Dynasties, all visited here. Here, He Ruchong, a great scholar in Ming Dynasty, Fang Bao, Liu Dakui and Yao Nai, masters of Tongcheng School in Qing Dynasty, were all influenced by Fushan culture.
Fushan Mountain is small, and there are 483 cliff stone carvings from the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Republic of China, including words, travel notes, inscriptions and inscriptions in An Tang Dynasty.
