Inscriptions
Inscriptions are words engraved on utensils to warn oneself and describe merits. Later it became a literary style, which generally uses rhyme.
The inscription engraved on the monument and placed on the right side of the desk as a warning is called "motto". Such as Liu Yuxi's "Humble Room Inscription". What is engraved on a stone tablet to describe the life of the deceased and praise it is called an "epitaph". Such as Han Yu's "Liu Zihou's Epitaph".
