Ma Heng's main achievements

He devoted all his life to the study of epigraphy, inherited the tradition of exegetical study of Ganjia School in Qing Dynasty, attached importance to the field investigation of cultural relics excavation archaeology, presided over the excavation of Yanxiadu site, and promoted the transition of China archaeology from epigraphy to field excavation, making its academic level ahead of the times, and was praised as "the forerunner of modern archaeology in China". His main works include Introduction to China's Epigraphy and Collection of General Zhai's Stones.

Mr. Ma Heng devoted himself to the study of epigraphy all his life, persevering, and many research conclusions were regarded as fixed knowledge by epigraphy and archaeology at home and abroad, enjoying a long reputation.
