This book was compiled by the master of Tibetan smallpox in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties according to the scripts, operas and China folklore of the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Referred to as drunken bodhi, it is also known as the golden rope for Master Ji Dian to play the world's wonders, help the public, make everyone happy and cross the world.
Regarding the origin of Jigong, the first book "Lohan Reincarnated in Still, Where the Monk Died" said: In the Southern Song Dynasty, Li Maochun, a butcher in Tiantai County, Taizhou Prefecture, believed in Buddhism and married, so he was reincarnated as Lohan, and his son was named "Xiu Yuan", which meant to "permanently repair the core historical site of life". When Li Xiuyuan grew up, he was guided by the Buddha and said that he was a "Buddha root, not a butcher's bone", so he became a monk in Lingyin Temple, and his dharma name was Daoji, which benefited the public.
Comparing with novels, we can find the historical figure of Jigong in relevant historical materials.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, there was an inscription on the pagoda in Fiona Fang, Hidden Lake, which was written for the pagoda in Fiona Fang, Hidden Lake. The main content is about his life, life characteristics and the birth of stupa after his death.
First of all, the biography of monks in the Southern Song Dynasty, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, Five Lights Strict Unification, Five Lights Encyclopedia, Add Set and Continue Lights, Volume II, Continue Lights Orthodoxy, Volume I, Jinjiang Zen Lights, Volume VIII and Zongtong Chronology.
In the Inscription of Fiona Fang Yinhu Pagoda, it is clearly mentioned that "Daoji, Yinhu and Fiona Fang were all called by people at that time." In other words, "Lake Hidden" and "Fiona Fang Search" are the nicknames of Daoji. In addition, Dao Ji's death year and death year are also explained-"Jiading died in Jingci on May 14, 2002". Moreover, as mentioned earlier, Dao Ji is "the great-grandson of Li Wenhe, a captain of Tiantai Linhai". It can be seen that Jigong is the uncle of Daoji in Jujian, and Daoji in Jujian is a monk who is listed as the 50th ancestor of Zen Buddhism and the 6th ancestor of Yangqi School, and is the author of Quotations from the Peak 10.
The "captain on the rooftop facing the sea" mentioned in Sentence Jian may refer to Li Zunxu, a beautiful Xu woman who married Princess Zhao Heng. Because, after the death of Li Zunxu, posthumous title's "harmony" was written as "harmony", which may be simply confused.
In recent years, in order to tap local historical and cultural resources, Tiantai County People's Government has built the "Former Residence of Jigong" at Shiqiantou, making it a "base for educating people, especially teenagers, on life values and morality".
It is said that Mr. Benchang You, a famous actor in China drama who is famous for playing Jigong, also made a special trip to the rooftop to visit Jigong's former residence.
But then again.
Dao Ji, a monk living in bamboo slips, has poems and poems included in Jingci Temple Zhi and Taishan Fan Xiang, but his life can't be tested except for a few words in the inscriptions on Fiona Fang stupa in bamboo slips.
Therefore, people think that Jigong is actually a mixture of folk artists and novel writers of other eminent monks, such as Buddhist monk Bao in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and Di Chin Tibetan in the Tang Dynasty.
Among them, I have to mention Bao Zhigong, a Zen master in the Song Dynasty during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
Bao Zhigong is a famous person in the history of Buddhism in China. After his death, he was buried in Dulong House, Zijingshan, Nanjing. In front of the tomb is a portrait of Zhi Gong painted by Wu Daozi, a great painter in the Tang Dynasty, poems praised by Li Bai and regular script copied by Yan Zhenqing, a great calligrapher. Tombstone has three wonders of calligraphy, painting and poetry, so it is called "Three Wonders Monument".
However, there are few records about Bao Zhigong's life experience, which can only be found in books such as Baohuashan Ji and Notes on Life in the Flower Dynasty. However, the story of Bao Zhigong's madness, Buddhism and Buddhism has been widely circulated among the people. People call him "Zhi Gong" and say that he is the embodiment of Guanyin Bodhisattva and is good at prophecy. Because the pronunciation of "Zhi" and "Ji" in many dialects is similar, and folk artists can't tell the Southern Song Dynasty from the Southern Song Dynasty, so they combine Zhi Gong and Ji Gong into one.
Jiang Ruizao, a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, asserted in Textual Research on Novels: "In fact, there was no such person in the early Southern Song Dynasty (referring to Jigong), and it was only because of the interpretation of Baozhi in the Six Dynasties and the Song Dynasty that it was faked."
Therefore, strictly speaking, there is a novel literary figure about Jigong who is half man and half fairy; There is a historical figure with the same name and surname, who is a monk and Taoist; The other is a crazy historical figure, but he is deified.
