How should beginners practice calligraphy?

Brush calligraphy is one of China's great national treasures, which has inherited Chinese civilization for 5,000 years. Most people appreciate elegant brushwork. However, the introduction of brush calligraphy is not as simple as pen calligraphy, and the threshold is relatively high, which makes many people flinch. Today, I will introduce how beginners should practice brush calligraphy.

Tools/raw materials

Chinese brush

Refined ink

cigarette paper

Methods/steps

First of all, you should choose a brush, which is enough for beginners and not expensive. Choose the thickness according to your hobbies.

There are two reasons for choosing cooked rice paper: low price, strong ink absorption, ink will not spread when writing, and beginners are easy to master. Novices can write with a rough side, which is easy to write because of its high friction.

Selection of copybook: Beginners should generally practice official script, because official script is the most horizontal and vertical, which can lay a good foundation for beginners and make it easy for them to practice other fonts in the future.

When practicing, pay attention to the temporary paste, first carefully observe the copybook until you remember the font, and then write. Usually, every word has to be practiced many times, which is similar to the font on the copybook to achieve the effect. It is said that practice makes perfect.

Sometimes I think it is more troublesome to use Xuan paper ink, and I can also consider writing stickers with brush water. This copybook has high reuse rate and is easy to carry.
