Introduction to the Federation of Hong Kong and Guangdong Organizations

The "Hong Kong Federation of Guangdong Societies" was formerly known as the "Hong Kong Guangdong Societies Celebrating the Return Committee". It was established in 1996 by Cantonese societies and fellow villagers to celebrate Hong Kong's return to the motherland. After Hong Kong's successful return to the motherland, it was changed to its current name in September 1997. Since its establishment fourteen years ago, under the guidance of the late Dr. Fok Ying-tung, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and founding director, and with the brainpower of the chief honorary presidents Dr. Li Ka-shing and Dr. Chen Ruiqiu, the Cantonese sages and the founding chairman Yu Guochun, JP Under the plan, with the joint efforts of all the directors, the friendly concern and support from all walks of life, and the united efforts of the members, the affairs of the conference have continued to develop. At present, the association has about 250 group members and nearly 1,500 individual members, and the number is still increasing.
